These may be acoustic only, but I gotta tell you, every one of these that I've played have been among the most impressive Ovations I've ever played!

Anybody who would spend the same money on a Trailor is crazy.

Paul, have you played one against an original?

Has anyone?

I've an original, it sounds fantastic.

That's a good deal!!

I bought the new frg that was listed earlier this year. The first chords I ever learned were on an original k-1111, can't compare memory (at least mine) against the new one.

It still has the new smell to it, the top hasn't opened up fully, and I haven't found the right strings yet. and it still sounds good. It is not a finger picker guitar YET, top needs to open and I'm sure using a pick would help.

It kills my shoulder (depth wise) but try to put 5-10 minutes each day with it.

Would echo Moody sentiment, have not found a taylor sound wise that compares at this price

I've got one of these reissues. It's now the only shiny bowl I have left ... granted, I didn't have a Balladeer but still, it is a seriously great guitar and it was THE shiny bowl I decided to keep. WaltCL and AstroDan were over a few weeks ago and would agree that it may well have been the absolute best sounding and playing of all the Ovations that were here that day. Including some really great ones. I've heard from some that ought to know that the reissues are better than the originals and I don't doubt it. But they certainly don't have the provenance and uniqueness of an original.

What Bobbo said. It was a nice Christmas present for myself a couple years ago.

Yup, darn fine model. But with that shiny bowl, it's like trying to hold on to a greased pig. :D

Oh yeah!
We kept going back to her. What a boomer and so sweet to play, especially finger picking Pink Floyd for me. The shiney bowl was no problemo to my (skinny) belly! :D

Remeber now Bob, I've got 1st dibs after the 12 stringer...

edit*** I think yours has very nice pieces of top wood, to, Bob. The seam was barely noticible. Skunk stripe, very nice git.
