| Hello everyone,
I'm considering to buy a baritone, have dreamt of one for some time, and now I'm in a project that could actually benefit from it. I found two on eBay, an Elite TX D for $680 and a DS768CCB for $925.
Course I would normally go with the DS, but obviously money is a major issue (or I'd play one of mr. Pepiak's koa beauties by now). So guys, please help me out with this:
1. I intend to use it mostly plugged in; would the deep bowl make a difference?
2. I wand to use a B to B tuning; is that possible on both, do they have the same scale length? |

Made in the USA version would be a requirement for me. |

| True. Thing is, do you think the sound made different by the bowl is picked up by the, ahem, pickup?
And also I don't understand if the DS and TX have the same scale length and neck width... |

And also I don't understand if the DS and TX have the same scale length and neck width... The DS778 has a 28 1/3" Scale...
The DS778TX also has a 28 1/3" Scale.
I am guessing that they both have 1 11/16" nut widths.
But as far as neck Profiles... The old DS has a five-piece neck.
Whereas the the TX has whatever-they-have nowadays. |

Unplugged the deeper the bowl the better the sound (IMO). |

| Thanks a lot guys. Now I just have to figure out how broke I wanna be for art :) ...
Arthur, would you believe I never thought of checking the site for specs?! Thank you sir for providing the info without rubbing it in :) )
Guess I would have enjoyed a wider neck... chubby fingers...
FWIW I found this, kinda answered my questions on range, scale, tunings. And, I had no idea there is such a thing called contrabass guitar.
