A couple of years ago I had the MS replace the neck on an old Balladeer and the bridge was replaced in the process. Afterwards I noticed a couple of small fissures appearing just below the bridge. Right now the longest is about 5/8" long. When I first noticed them I checked them with a jeweler's loupe and they appeared to be under the finish, but looking at the inside with a mirror, I don't see any cracks in the wood. This week I noticed a tiny crack in the finish extending from under the bridge on one side. This is a player and the defect in the finish doesn't bother me, but I'd like to keep it from growing if I can. I always keep the guitar in the case with a humidifier and wipe it down regularly. I've already got light strings on it. Is there anything else I can/should do to prevent this from getting worse? With the neck replacement I've already got more in the guitar than it's worth, but it's a 40 year old guitar with a new 1 3/4" neck and I love it. The same thing is happening on the other side below the first string, however the finish hasn't cracked on that side yet (hard to see it at all in the picture). Suggestions?
