... but wouldn't you just love to have been able to take a round in this jam? It's worth watching it all the way to the end.

I saw that performance when it originally aired...

I couldn't believe they got all those guys together at once. Still one of the best "All Star" jams i've seen...

... and still think it's funny that Steve Martin is a total banjo shedder

Thanks Bobbo.

I read somewhere that Steve Martin said he felt he had no business up on that stage. He just kept his head down and tried not to screw up.

He didn't have any business up there. He barely made it through his round, and all he tried to do was repeat the basic part. Even at that he had a pretty bad stumble.

But who cares! What a cool clip!

And in the spirit of "all-star jams", here's another one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmIRgZbzoJ8

i now recall that i saw a video with earl scruggs playing along with clarence and some of the other "byrds" members. here's a great clip of clarence's muleskinner band. if ya' don't like bluegrass, don\'t click this link

by the way, clarence was loading up his equipment into the back of a vehicle in july 1973, a few months after this video was made, when a drunk driver hit and killed him. hendrix said clarence was the best guitar picker he ever knew.

I wish I were closer to be able to jam with members other than at the tour and special events...gonna try to make the SJ2 in a few weeks...however, I have been able to jam with Wayne Henderson and the folks (famous and not so famous) who stop in at Wayne's Guitar Shop from time to time..in fact I'll be there next Thursday night...now thats some great pickin!
