I met so many people in my years with Glen who either had one or wanted to buy those guitars with his name on them. I hope you sell it right away. Good luck! Did he ever sign it?

Right now Glenn Campbell could be facing some jail time for his DUI charges last year. Maybe he'll do some jailhouse rock!

This would be an excellent guitar for someone doing time. Actually it looks like I may be selling it in parts. One OFC member wants the truss rod cover and another wants to buy the rubber knee pad (no kidding).

As Mr Zevon (RIP, Kind Soul) observed, "Money, Guns, & Lawyers". You're probably correct, Steve, 'never happen'.

My partner Rick and I played that song at last Friday night's gig . . . . dedicated it to Jayson Williams.

From what I understand, it's already been determined that Glen WILL spend ten days in jail, but will be eligible for work furlow after 48 hrs. He's also to perform something like 75 hrs of community service. FWIW, the assault charge on the police oficer was dropped.

jeff, that's just plain peculiar to me that he would see the inside of a jail, even for 48 hours?...either he had an existing record of aberrance toward local law enforcement or the arizona legal establishment copped an attitude because of his notoriety...

Please remember, he assualted a uniformed police officer. I'm not sure where you're from, but if you punch and bite a uniformed officer while being legally drunk, you will spend some jail time.

He was driving, at night, near his home (VERY nice neighborhood). He sideswiped a car at a somewhat crowded intersection, then continued to drive away. Witnesses took down his license plate and car description (new 7 series BMW) and called 911. The police looked up the ownership registration from the license number and went to his house. The rang the doorbell. He answered it and got in a fight with the officer. He punched the officer, wrestled him to the ground and bit the officer's leg. He continued to fight after back-up arrived. It took 3 officers to subdue him and bring him in.

At the station he blew way past legally drunk on the breathalizer. Since the police never saw him drive and the DA didn't want to rely on witness statements that it was actually Glen Campbell driving (tinted windows at night makes it hard to identify a driver), they reached a plea agreement. The plea agreement included a little bit of county jail time.

Otherwise, he would have been looking at a longer jail if convicted of drunk & disorderly and assaulting a police officer.

Please let me know where you're from. If I'm ever visiting, I'll feel comfortable getting drunk and hitting a cop, knowing I won't have to go to jail.

P.S. I hope this guitar sells for a lot of money, so the values go up when I go to sell my original Deluxe Balladeer.

Maybe if he goes to jail he will get some help and not end up like John Denver or so many other dead talented people.

As Ted Nugent would say, "too many of my friends did drugs and alcohol but I never did. Now their all dead and I'm still Ted!"
