Joined: March 2004 Posts: 52 Location: Iowa | I just got this email and I think by posting it I might clear some things up: ~It's none of my business, but most OFCer's know that Paul sold the guitar for his advertised price of $575. That your reserve is $625 makes one wonder if you bought the guitar to flip it at a profit. If you simply had some sudden money problems and needed to get your cash back out of the guitar, one wonders why you don't sell it for the $575 purchase price? (And, asking Paul for the names/e-mails of the other interested buyers would result in a quicker sale than the eBay time lag.) Most OFCer's appreciate market value for a guitar, but they don't appreciate one OFCer taking advantage of other OFCer's. It'a a great guitar (I have the same guitar), and I wish you luck in selling it, but, at least to me, mutual trust is a mainstay of the OFC. ~........................ But since I couldn't respond directly to the author, i'll do it here, and for anyone else to read who visits this post. ~Thank you for your constructive criticism. I was mainly getting the point across that it's for sale on eBay now, but wil be strictly on OFC for awhile if it doesn't sell. I thought that if I could get a profit on the Bay I might as well take the risk. Of course if it doesn't sell i'd announce it on my listing that its for sale for less than Paul was offering it. And by the way it wasn't until your email that I noticed Paul's offer on the board. He contacted me before he posted and I bought it. I wasn't aware of the actual market value and am not trying to take adavantage of anyone. But thank you for the idea of asking Paul about other interested buyers, it hadn't occured to me. Anyways, thank you for the message. .......... If anyone else was thinking the same things, i'm sorry to have come off that way. The price i'm willing to sell it at if it doesn't go on eBay is $550 including shipping. Thanks for going through this long email, but I felt a little bad about it and had to get it off my chest. Thanks.

Only area I ever have problems with is full and fair disclosure (not inferring anything with this offer). The buyer is able to judge whether it is a good deal or not. Often, we find good deals, decide we can't or don't desire to keep it, and sell the guitar. I have received a guitar and either sold it or traded it for a profit within a short time. Nothing to apologize for.

Given his financial situation as a university student, I encouraged him to try and make a bit extra if he can. No one is getting taken advantage of here.

OFCer's aren't being "taken advantage of" the price is fair even if you only paid .02 cents for it originally.......the anonymous emailer said it best......"It's none of his business!!!! ****************** My .02 cents.......Mike

I mean if you take away the shipping costs he's not making much more than he paid for it. Just my opinion. Good luck with the sale.

The high bidder must really want it; 7 out of the 11 bids so far. He has no feedback, but I have alot of faith in people. If things don't work out on eBay i'll post it here, for an OFC bargain! As a side note, I finally shedded my "junior" status!
