I just thought i'd do a little marketing. I'm selling my 6778LX with a reserve of $625. Its been played slightly but shows no sign of it whatsoever. Check it out!

DCRunner just got this guitar from me. I can attest that it is in very near new condition and that it sounds great.

Thanks for the support Paul! If it doesn't reach the reserve I wanted on Ebay I will offer it again on here; I really need the money (pesky bills). If you have any questions please email me or leave a post.

I just got this email and I think by posting it I might clear some things up:

~It's none of my business, but most OFCer's know that Paul sold the guitar for his advertised price of $575. That your reserve is $625 makes one wonder if you bought the guitar to flip it at a profit. If you simply had some sudden money problems and needed to get your cash back out of the guitar, one wonders why you don't sell it for the $575 purchase price? (And, asking Paul for the names/e-mails of the other interested buyers would result in a quicker sale than the eBay time lag.) Most OFCer's appreciate market value for a guitar, but they don't appreciate one OFCer taking advantage of other OFCer's.

It'a a great guitar (I have the same guitar), and I wish you luck in selling it, but, at least to me, mutual trust is a mainstay of the OFC.

~........................

But since I couldn't respond directly to the author, i'll do it here, and for anyone else to read who visits this post.

~Thank you for your constructive criticism. I was mainly getting the point across that it's for sale on eBay now, but wil be strictly on OFC for awhile if it doesn't sell. I thought that if I could get a profit on the Bay I might as well take the risk. Of course if it doesn't sell i'd announce it on my listing that its for sale for less than Paul was offering it. And by the way it wasn't until your email that I noticed Paul's offer on the board. He contacted me before he posted and I bought it. I wasn't aware of the actual market value and am not trying to take adavantage of anyone. But thank you for the idea of asking Paul about other interested buyers, it hadn't occured to me. Anyways, thank you for the message.

..........

If anyone else was thinking the same things, i'm sorry to have come off that way. The price i'm willing to sell it at if it doesn't go on eBay is $550 including shipping. Thanks for going through this long email, but I felt a little bad about it and had to get it off my chest. Thanks.

Personally, I don't see a problem with selling a guitar at whatever price and for whatever reason. Only area I ever have problems with is full and fair disclosure (not inferring anything with this offer).

The buyer is able to judge whether it is a good deal or not.

Often, we find good deals, decide we can't or don't desire to keep it, and sell the guitar. I have received a guitar and either sold it or traded it for a profit within a short time. Nothing to apologize for.

I agree with Tony. I still pray for a way you can fix any dilemas and keep the guitar!

On the basis of my personal correspondence with Collin before and after our deal, I find it VERY doubtful he bought the guitar to make a profit on it. Given his financial situation as a university student, I encouraged him to try and make a bit extra if he can. No one is getting taken advantage of here.

I also agree with Tony!.....$625 (including shipping) is a great price for a LX!!

OFCer's aren't being "taken advantage of" the price is fair even if you only paid .02 cents for it originally.......the anonymous emailer said it best......"It's none of his business!!!!

My .02 cents.......Mike

$625 including shippiing is a very fair price.
I don't have a problem with it either. Someone gets a great deal either way. I mean if you take away the shipping costs he's not making much more than he paid for it. Just my opinion.
Good luck with the sale.

Hey thanks for all the support. You gotta love all this OFC commradery. The guitar just reached the reserve price. The high bidder must really want it; 7 out of the 11 bids so far. He has no feedback, but I have alot of faith in people. If things don't work out on eBay i'll post it here, for an OFC bargain! As a side note, I finally shedded my "junior" status!

I hope the deal goes through smooth as "butter on a bald monkey". I'd hate to have to sell mine, although pesky bills are definitely something that comes regularly with my own kid in college. God speed!

I'd just like to note that the guitar is sold. It went for the reserve price (no last minute bidders, a little unusual) and is now on route to San Clemente CA. I'm gonna miss her; a separation GAS is already setting in.

next time you email the buyer, how about pointing him or her to the OFC...San Clemente is just up the road.
