The 5868 is pretty much the same as a 1868, but with the ASW top.
I won this guitar in a contest in early 1992. It was presented, signed(on round back, not front),tuned, and played breifly by Richie Sambora( he played the song Dead or Alive). It is near mint cond. There are no scratches, dings, chips, or abrasions. It was played less than 20hrs, by a non- smoker. The tuners show the slightest pitting on gold surface, but that only show with a magnifing glass. This guitar still looks like the day I got it. 9.9 rating IMHO! Now, I must pay for my custom Carvin, somethings got to go.

Koolkat, I knew it, your guitar is sweet looking. I am a carvin fan also, I hope to own holdsworth fatboy someday. I had installed some H22 (carvin pickups designed with holdsworth) pickups from carvin in my gibson sg and they are the hype, I am very pleased with their performance.
Good luck on selling ax, give me a shout if no one throws money at you. peace mike

StandingO, 'angel step' is the description of that particular walnut-wood grain pattern, as the descriptions 'curley' maple, 'wormy' maple and 'birdseye' maple are used to describe those particular maple woods, etc., but you probably knew that already....they're many other descriptions of the various woods, that luthiers and carpenters would know..
