I have what I believe to be a 1984 or '85 Glen Campbell artist model for sale. The model # is 1667 and serial #306584. Here are the details taken from the Ovation website for the 1667:

1-first digit is always 1
6-acoustic electric roundback (I believe this is the deep bowl)
6-cutaway electric
7-Glen Campbell artist model

Diamond fretboard inlays, gold tuners, AAA sitka top, original hardshell case, action is very low and the electronics are in perfect working order. I took the guitar to a local Ovation dealer and he told me it was the second best Ovation he had ever played. My problem is I'm not certain what to ask for it. He wanted to consign it and put it in his shop for $700.00 I think that's a bit high after looking at e-bay. I'll start at $500.00 and consider all offers. If you have any questions or would like some pictures e-mail me at iatx77@earthlink.net. If you need references, I have a perfect 100% positive feedback rating on e-bay and have bought and sold several guitars on The Acoustic Guitar Forum.

Actually, your guitar is a deep bowl Legend cutaway from the mid 1980's. The Glen Campbell was 1127 (acoustic) and 1627 (acoustic/electric). Originally, Legends were 1117 and the GC 1127.

Sleepy Bones-I appreciate your input. Am I reading the Ovation website wrong?

You're reading it correctly, but it's wrong. For example, the 2 was the Custom Balladeer, not the Deluxe Balladeer. By the time the Glen Campbell Artist came out, the Deluxe Balladeer had become the Legend, model number 1117. The GC Artist was model number 1127. The Custom Balladeer was model number 1112. The Artist was model number 1121, and the Balladeer was model number 1111.

That chart is all ka ka.

Read the table again. It says those numbers only apply to the first 8 models. 1667 is a Legend deep bowl. Glen Campbell Artist is 1627 ro 1127.

Nah. I'm too tired and it's too much work.
