This guitar is in perfect condition, exactly as it was shipped to me by Al about a month ago. The only thing worthy of pointing out is some slight smudging on the top that is barely noticable. You can only see it in certain light at certain angles. The top is matte finished, so is isn't noticable. Other than that it is perfect. These guitars are cannons!! I wish I could keep both, but have to make a choice, and see the '05 as more of a daily workhorse guitar for gigging, etc... so I am selling the Adamas. I paid $1700 for it and am selling it for $1500. Please email me at mattmmcgriff@msn.com for pics and more info.

It's not a real "spruce vs carbon" thing. They both sound awesome, in very different ways. Plus I have a lot more $$ in the 681 (the '05 is an FRG).

Future Ovations will all have the contour bowl and in a few years time anyone and his brother can buy a Legend-CB (see, I've already coined the name for Legend Contour Bowl) and it will be pretty much the same as your 05C. You can pat yourself on the back that you had it first, but so what. On the other hand, the U681 will be a seriously in-demand collectable guitar selling for over $3k, IF you can find one. Just one mans prediction. Dave

I would have bought this guitar off you the minute you posted it, but I already have one on order from Al. Good luck, I'm sure it will find a good home here. Dave

I mean, the images that those two letters in series conjure up is not what I want to be thinking about when I think 'Ooh, the new Ovation Legend's are out!' Gah. CBs remind me of banjos, not Ovations! Excuse me, I need to go poke out my minds eye... ;)

If it is as good as everyone says, then I'll be ecstatic! I have another 12 fret 000 Martin (1935 vintage) so I'm use to this "caliber". Thanks for all of your informative posts.....thanks to zchord - I know it wasn't easy.... More on this later.... Cheers, GtrMn4Hm
