Location: Birmingham, Alabama | Anyone have an Adamas III for sale or know of one? I had some interst in this instrument many years ago but have not seen one in a long time. I would like to add one to my collection.
Thanks

Location: boulder | Hi all,
Yes I have one I bought on ebay. Just played it the other day. I think the strings I have on it now are to light; of course I put on lights because the mediums sounded to bassy to me. I'll get the right guage some day. I mean even a broken clock is right twice a day, yes?
I have only heard of one other model 1591, bought by an OFC member (in canada I think). He paid $600 I think (U.S.) or less then half of what I did. win some, lose some I guess.
The sound of the 1591 reminds me of a ported speaker. One range (low end) is reinforced relative to other frequency ranges. (hence my guage changes). Still, it plays easy, sustains like crazy and there weren't too many made. hope it helps, peace mike |

Location: Seattle Tacoma Washington | As long as you are talking unusual Adamas. Has anyone seen an Adamas Q? It shows up in the 1997 catalog, and that is the only place I have ever seen it. I have never seen one on eBay, or in a store. Sure to be limited production, but does it sound as good as it looks. Is this Holy Grail material? Any information would be appreciated. Cool III by the way.

It's better to just feel & listen.
Looking causes too much distraction . . . I keep losing my place . . . . |
