Joined: May 2005 Posts: 3 Location: NYC | Hi folks, I'm about to attempt to sell my 1758 12 String (possibly eBay, not sure yet), but I can't for the life of me find a guitar box big enough for the case! Ack! As I'm sure many of you know, those deep-bowl twelve strings have a really big case that will not fit in a standard guitar box. I've tried trolling my local guitar shops, as well as several shipping suppliers. No dice. Of course UPS will box it for me, but that ends up being very expensive for the buyer. Any ideas? Thanks everyone! -RapidRider BTW - Very useful site

I very rarely read ads for Taylor or Martin, but have NEVER seen one that included the line, ".... has typical cracks in the finish..." Ovations are especially vulnerable to cracking due to impact and particularly so in shipping. Don't get me wrong; I like Ovation cartons for shipping Ovations but I pack better than the factory. UPS and FedEx are not as likely to honor my claims as they are for a high volume shipper.

I'm also considering putting it craigslist for local pickup to avoid more running around trying to find a usable box / carton. Of course I badly sprained my ankle today while hiking, which isn't helping the running around part...

Sell me a great guitar for a good price and I'll make a custom box and ship it to you flat. Of course I need to see pics and price. I just lost a 1758 12 string on Ebay today. It was a beautiful white one. You'll then be able to ship the guitar to me and everyone's a winner. Stellarjim
