In the interest of enjoying all the many flavors of Ice Cream that these Ovation guitars have to offer us I would like to offer my most recent Project up for Sale or Trade. I am asking $399 which includes the case and shipping to most reasonable locations (you know who you aren't).

What I am more interested in is a trade for something interesting!!!

I am in need/want of a shallow body acoustic for the office (there is a semi-regular lunch time jam).

I like multi-holes, can do repairs and can appreciate the obscure! All offers will be considered.

Back to the Viper - Pictures are in the Gallery, I can give the whole nit-picking report of what isn't perfect about it and can provide bigger scarier pictures if needed. Functionally it is as good as the day it was issued. It is now strung with Mediums and set accordingly. Many of you have opinions about veneer pickguards, oiled necks, Red Guitars, etc.

That's why Bill made so many different ones!

PM me so I can respond from home or work!

I realized that I said the kiss of death when I used the word "Custom". "Unique" and "one of a kind" don't fare much better!

Did I mention the 30 song liberal return policy or the fact that I could even add cash?

Don't make me go to Fleabay!

Arggh. Mike, I love it, but my wife would go ballistic if I brought up the subject after buying not one, but 2 6778LX's. (one was given to an old friend)
I've wanted to replace my mexistrat with an O hardbody for a while, now. Perhaps I can think of a rational excuse.

I haven't played or heard a Viper - is it more suited to rhythm or lead? or is it an 'all around' kind of ax?

Think Tele with some balls and you have a Viper.
Excellent rhythm or lead axe!

With the mediums I have on it and my playing style it is set up as a rythm guitar. Put on some extra lights and it will wail with the best of them! I believe it was released to compete with the Tele.

Ovation makes extraordinary necks!

Gee, thanks for the pics, Mike... really did a lot to relieve my GAS...

Maybe you'd like a strat to morph into something unique? It's a great guitar - just not an O.

I like it... I don't have what you want to share, but I've been thinking about trading my old beat-up Preacher for one of yours one of these days...I just don't know if I'd want to for this one. I really love the way it looks, except for the cherry ( I read in another article why you had to do that).

I think when I get a Viper, I'd like a Viper II. And I really love the all natural finish you have going on the Deacons.

I'm horrible making decisions about this stuff. :p

But I didn't want you to feel that no one was intrested in your work. :D

Thanks!

The Deacons were both one piece Mahogony which is a pleasure to work with and finishes nicely.

It is a little red, isn't it? It was a "go for it" decision. It could easily be white or blue or whatever. If my Daughter had shown interest in playing it might have been pink!

I just put some D'Addario light gage back on and now it feels like a Viper.

One OFC'er did PM me and is considering a trade. Thought I'd take the weekend for us both to think.

I like the idea of trading around.

Oh yeah, I understand. It really does look nice, it's just I've never really liked Red on a guitar. Just a taste thing.

Now being offered on Fleabay.
Not a Fender
I had to throw in the "not a Fender" as the epitome of "ebayisms" to garner more searchers and because I can't avoid sarcasm when letting loved ones go. :D

I know I'm gonna hate myself for not picking this up. Not that hating myself is anything new.
Unfortunately I just spent that much replacing the heater in my hot tub.

Red Viper

It is going to Pearland Texas.

If I find another candidate to fix it may end up with a Koa pickguard.

Whoever he is, that guy got a great deal.

Are you saying a Koa pickguard on your next project? How much was that to pick up?

All parts from Ebay and a lot of plagarism on special Ovations. Look up the seller "fishgiven" and see my sources. I got drill press for Christmas, a Dremel for my birthday, a scroll saw at a Garage sale, etc.

Father's Day is coming! Hmmmm...

If I had to set a price on one it would exceed $75. There are some makers of wood veneer PG's for some of the Cookie-Cutter Fenders and such. They go $69.95 and up.

About $50 for 4 good sized sheets. Could fit in 8 Deacon PG's and a bunch of TRCs. It has a really nice figure to it.

In my opinion they should be worth $150 - 200 more.
