Hey guys and girls,

I'm looking for a loving home for my Adamas II 6 String natural (Black) non-cutaway circa 1990. Model 1681. Why? My wife said if I sell it I can buy the U681T from Al. The 1681 is flawless. I even sent it back to the mother ship two years ago just to get everything checked out. I'm asking $950 plus Shipping/Insurance. If you prefer, I can run it through my business on a Master Card or VISA for 3% extra (my cost). Anybody interested? I live near Jeff. If you'd feel more comfortable, I'd be happy to take it by his place and let him check it out to assure anyone that's interested. That is, if it's OK with Jeff. Adamas sound in sexy black. Is this you?

Hey, I was on the tour a few weeks ago. Hopefully that gets me a little credibility! But like I said, if Jeff is willing, I'll cross the mountain and let him tell you what he thinks. . . .if you're serious! Besides, I'd love to see his U681T. . . .and the rest of his stable!

Lenny, I just realized that I put my guitar up for sale and it's identical to yours. Really sorry about that. I didn't mean to poach on your sale. I've been thinking about putting mine for sale for awhile and finally got the time to do it today. If you want me to, I'd be happy to cancel my post so as not to reduce your chances of making a sale. Just let me know. I'm sure it'll sell at a later time since these are such great guitars and becomming more rare all the time. Good luck. Dave

Hey Dave,

Wow! What a coincidence! Yeah, mine's the identical axe. I saw your picture. Mine has a new deluxe hardshell. Maybe that's the only difference. It's really gracious of you to offer to withdraw yours, but I would never ask that. Good luck to you as well! I'll be happy to keep mine if no one wants it. I really love it. I just thought it would be nice to try something new. (Anyone identify?) And Jeff has really got me jacked up about that U681T. If it happens, great. If not, I still think I'm lucky to have this beauty. It's sounds spectacular. I only use it unplugged.

Hey Lenny,

As great as your guitar is...I can't think of any downside trading it in for a Uterus. I have had some time to spend with Folklore Deluxe and though similar in some ways, the Uterus is more a players guitar...it just welcomes your hands and does anything you ask of it as easily as sitting still. It is a really fantastic guitar

Though, I'm not sure I would enhance your credibility with this crowd, feel free to bring it round.

Good luck to both you and Dave.

MWoody,

No, that's not the perfect OFC post.

It doesn't mention Momma, pickup trucks, trains, or LLamas! ;)

Hey Blue,

OK. OK. I forgot to mention my mom owned it first and brought it up here from Mississippi (Delta area/read: lots of 7th chords) on a train to trade me for my pickup. God, I just got this block about the llama thing. Can't work it in. What's the deal with llamas and banjos anyway? I'm new here.

:p

Search the threads for both boring and entertaining reads about Llamas and banjos.

OK, I have talked myself into either Lenny's or StandingO's Adamas. I just gotta figure out how to get it here. Gotta wait until next week tho. I'm taking the family to Branson this week.

Five is not enough. None of my 6 are remotely similar, except they're all Ovations. And I haven't even started on the Adamas line.

Lenny, the guitar you just sold was very cool but you just made a huge leap in terms of sound! You are gonna love the U681T. Glad you could grab one before they are all gone!

Hey, thanks for the positive feedback, Stephen. The separation anxiety/seller's remorse is starting to fade a little. Hope she arrives on Tuesday. How many will that make total in the hands of OFC'ers? Maybe we should do a map with dots or flags? Uh-oh, am I starting to gloat? Well, yeah, I guess I am. :p

Do a search and find the serial number link that Dave (standingovation) has going on all the rare/limited edition guitars. It will show you all the known OFC owners of the U681T's.

Thanks, Stephen and Dave. I had already checked it out. Did Jeff get a little too excited?
