I wish the scammers would learn how to type. Be sure to read the description - good for a laugh.

Why do you think this guitar isn't worth the asking price? I'm not picking on you Waskel, but I don't get it sometimes. We bitch and moan that Ovations get no respect and they are so undervalued. Then when someone asks a price that is probably a pretty fair value for a quality acoustic we act like he's a scammer? I recently sold a Martin 000-18 for $1200. Is the Legend a similar value guitar to the 000-18? I would think so. OK, maybe the Legend seller is a little off on the retail of $2G. But we should all be hoping that he gets exactly what's asking for it. You know what I mean? Dave

I get your point, Dave, but I wasn't laughing about the asking price. At least not the starting price. I was laughing about things like:
"The guitar you are looking at is an extremely famous guitar."
"It is used but I dought you can tell." and
"This guitar as you can see from other listings is sold at retail for about $2000.00."

This seller has zero feedback and seems very vague about the guitar they're selling. Would you give him $1200?

Oh yes, I agree it sounds like a dodgy deal. As a buyer would I give him $1200? Hell no. Is the guitar worth it (in the context of what people pay for similar non-ovation guitars)? Absolutely yes. Are you gonna bid? ha ha

Not me. But I agree with you that (assuming the guitar exists and is really for sale) it could well be worth it. I believe it's a 1717, am I correct?

He's a short ways from my home area in rural Illinois.....my guess is he's a rural guy with little or no knowledge about the guitar trying to move it for some quick bucks(and hoping he finds a fish). Now how did he get it in the first place if he doesn't know anything about it???? I dunno....but it's possible he's selling it for a friend.

In any case, do yourself a favor and DON'T BID ON IT......

Roger
