Waskel, is there still time for me to convince your wife you don't need that Adamas because you can only play one guitar at a time?

Nope. Sorry, it's on it's way! :D
You should grab that other 1537 and tell her it's an investment.

"Just like stocks, as soon as I buy something the value goes down."

Mark, Send me back the 1537 and pick up this one on eBay!
The eBay seller says that its "Condition is 9.5 out of 10". How could you go wrong?

I starting missing the one I sent you as I was packing it up.
So much went into resurrecting it... I didn't realize I would get that attached to it.

No way Bruce. I say goodbye to it every morning and carry it around with me when I'm home. I don't like going out in the evenings because I miss my 1537. I haven't been this attached to an object since I got the Boxster. My wife is jealous. She also realizes that I wouldn't want to part with it, even if I had another one.

Good deal if the condition is as stated.
Did anyone else receive additional pictures from the seller and what did you think?

Noah sent me some pictures. It looked very good. The only flaw I could see was the epaulet had some checking and was lifting in one spot.

If I may, let me throw out a different slant on this subject. I was watching The Ovation Channel (who'da thunk we'd have our own cable channel) anyway, they run a series with musicians who were popular at the time.. It is sort of the forerunner of "Unplugged". Anyway David Crosby and Graham Nash doing their duo stuff. They had matching Martins and they sounded great. A few months ago I saw Jim Croce doing the same show, playing Ovations. They sounded great too. To my ears, the difference is the Martin's(and Dove's and Hummingbird's and Guild's)sound like really fine folk acoustic guitars while Ovations sound more like rock and roll acoustic guitars. They are brighter, have much more dynamics and are much edgier than traditional acoustics. They are the "rock and roll" version of the acoustic guitar.
I think it is like comparing and old Gibson Johnny Smith Special to a Flying V. They are both electrics but made for different purposes.
I think the reason we like O's is we dig that edgy, off-center, sound that they produce. At least I do. Not everybody does and in fact, they may not be the best sound for all performances. But we like 'um and except for the guys who buy and sell to make a living, I'm happy they are not priced out of reach.
One quick story then I'll get out of this rant.
I was lucky enough to be in a band with a guy who was a pretty good guitarist. In fact he placed in the top three at the National Flat-picking contest for a couple of years in a row. He was a Martin-attic. If it didn't have an "M" it was junk as far as he was concerned. He HATED my Balladier. To him it was too loud.. Too bright.. and too crisp sounding for his taste. That was his choice, but it never swayed me. He later discovered Gallagher and still plays them.

We are an exclusive club of sorts because we look beyond the normal to find the sound that fits our playing and our ears.
The short answer is: Would I own a Martin (or something like it)? Yes.. Would I sell all my O's to buy one... Nope.
