Hi everyone,
I just bought this 1616-1 for $399. It'll be my first nylon string guitar. hoping to use it for an alternative country project I've got going on.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Ovation-1616-Classical-Acoustic-Electric-Guitar...

I'd love to hear anyone's opinions or comments about this model or what I paid for it.

thank you,

-mike

I think it's a good guitar and if it's in good shape as represented, you've paid a good price.

You need to shorten up your Ebay name! Other than that, good get!

Welcome Mike.

Those nylon strung are a nice flavor of ice cream.

I was watching that one, too, but I really want to try one with a 1 7/8 neck. Love my 1713, but there are probably enough diffences that they wouldn't compare well. Not better or worse, just a different flavor, to quote whoever made that up.

Why is the skunk stripe so thin? I didn't know that they used to do that - is it just on the classical or are the older Country Artists like that?

I don't think it's a thin stripe, just a wider neck than the normal.

Blame the varifocals/advancing years/beer. They probably all apply.

this will be ovation #7

oh, I have 2 pinnacle 3862's made in japan. i'm really impressed with the japanese. they assembled them very nicely. I have a white one that has the sweetest tone to it.

For reasons I cannot fathom, that one slipped through with no bidders except you, but 7 people have bid up another O Classic 1613 to $550. Ebay bidding makes no sense to me.
