Howdy All ~ found this nice looking 1112-4 on the Bay yesterday, and it's just what I'm looking for: a decent backup for my SMG 1597 at a decent price. With any luck at all, maybe I can catch this one flying under the radar (but I'm not counting on it). Anyway, Just thought I'd let y'all know I'm interested so we don't end up bidding it up against one another. ;)

There's a 1612 with about an hour left that I bid on because it was too low. Someone else is watching pretty close and outbid me. Since I already have an 1862, I can't justify 2. Or I might keep the deep bowl and get rid of the shallow bowl. They look identical otherwise. If a CFCer wants it, I'll back off.

Go for it Mark. Be a nice upgrade, going to the deep bowl.

But now another 1973 1624 just appeared. I don't think it's the same one that just sold on Saturday, but it's weird that there are 2 1973s in such a short time.

I decided to leave it. A closer exam of the pictures seemed to show a significant crack from the bridge to the base. Maybe more than a finish crack. Seller also had 0 feedback, but offered a 30 day guarantee. I should have asked about it sooner, but I was focusing on other things.

Hey Eastbound, if the auction doesn't work out for you, let me know...I have a 1711 Balladeer I have been wishy washy about selling (I really like the guitar, but I am looking to build up my funds towards something like a 1537)...I'm thinking like $325.00 w/HSC. There is a picture of it in the Gallery.

Thanks, Norseman, will do. :) Looks like a good'n. I'm still crossing my fingers on the 1112, though...

Well, with 21 hours left it looks like this one ain't gonna sneak through on the cheap, which isn't really surprising for a guitar like this...

$212.00 with 11 hours to go? Wow! That looks like a great deal. I bet it goes somewhere between 250.00 and 275.00 tops.

Looks to me the seller has an alter-ego named "pepper-kent". That's really bogus (if indeed I'm right). Someone on this board once chewed me out for talking with another member on what our bids would be on a particular item...glad to know the sellers are playin fair  .

Just went for $312. Not great. Buy Norseman's.

Norseman ~ sorry I haven't replied earlier, but the OFC server wouldn't let me -- it kept timing out.

I would love to take you up on that offer, but my budget at the moment is a grand total $211, and I certainly won't insult you with an offer like that. I may have more funds after I get off my lazy butt and do my taxes, but don't wait for me!

Meanwhile, I'll keep slumming on the 'Bay...

No problem Bro... I know EXACTLY how you feel. Sometimes the finances just aren't there.

Keep that guitar fund growing, who knows what you might end up with! Good Luck!
