It needs some work, but if anyone has the time, skill, and confidence to do it, I think it could be fixed up pretty easy. I'm also confident the mothership could give her a nice makeover also. It appears to be going cheap, so if nobody goes for it, I may take it on as a project. Let me know if anyone is going to bid on it. Ebay Listing

Factory says they can saws-all the bowl of a 47RI, then I can install the electronics and they glue the bowl back in place. Unfortunately I already sold off the electronics package that I took out of my own 1537. Dave

I love this guitar. But the 1537 seems to be the granddaddy of this line. My fear is if I buy one I will just keep it in the case if it isn't a notch up from the 87. I want to play it not just have it. Which one will I pick up the most? Steve

They are very similiar and most who own both feel the '87 is essentially a 1537 with more bling. Inside of deciding on whether to get french vanilla or vanilla bean ice cream, go for the strawberry or neopolitan. Lots of flavors. Try an Adamas.

I was suprised to see it go for that much with all the obvious problems, including the need for all new electronics, and the bodywork and fretwork needed. By the time you go ahead and send it in for all the repair work needed, you could probably have just bought a better one without the headaches.
