Here's an Elite 1537 listed on Ebay. It needs some work, but if anyone has the time, skill, and confidence to do it, I think it could be fixed up pretty easy. I'm also confident the mothership could give her a nice makeover also. It appears to be going cheap, so if nobody goes for it, I may take it on as a project.

Let me know if anyone is going to bid on it.

StandingOvation, alias Tupperware, bid on it first, but I think it's fair game now.

Its an auction. It is fair game until it is ended.

More money than I have in my pocket right now.

I'm not about to lose sleep over it if I don't get it. I would just like to ensure it gets scooped up by someone that will repair it and keep her in service.

Bid away. I was only interested in it for the electronics. Factory says they can saws-all the bowl of a 47RI, then I can install the electronics and they glue the bowl back in place. Unfortunately I already sold off the electronics package that I took out of my own 1537. Dave

I am having a GAS attack but I am not sure that it is a good thing. I hear so much about the 1537 but I resently acquired a 87 Collectors. I love this guitar. But the 1537 seems to be the granddaddy of this line. My fear is if I buy one I will just keep it in the case if it isn't a notch up from the 87. I want to play it not just have it. Which one will I pick up the most?

If you have an '87 in good shape, you really have no need for a beater 1537. They are very similiar and most who own both feel the '87 is essentially a 1537 with more bling.

Inside of deciding on whether to get french vanilla or vanilla bean ice cream, go for the strawberry or neopolitan. Lots of flavors.

Try an Adamas.

Where's Mountain Biker Fred!!!!!

This could be the PERFECT chance to grab a 1537.
Actually looks better than the beater than I bought 6 months ago that Fred got upset about.

I just talked the guy down the hall into buying a beater for $525. The electronics worked on it, though. This one is still going cheap.

Thanks, Dave. I was trying to come up with an appropriate question. All I kept coming up with were inappropriate ones...

I'll try to lead this back to the guitar ...

I was suprised to see it go for that much with all the obvious problems, including the need for all new electronics, and the bodywork and fretwork needed. By the time you go ahead and send it in for all the repair work needed, you could probably have just bought a better one without the headaches.
