In 1983 I worked at a music store in Lincoln, NE and through a long chain of events received/purchased an Adamas I Cutaway after long discussions with Bill Kaman himself - Model 1587-7, Serial #3780-92 - inside label appears to be hand signed by CW Kaman II.

I am actually thinking of parting with this guitar after 23 years! Wow - am I crazy or what?

As a semi-pro musician this guitar was my main stage guitar for the past 20 years. In 1994 (approx. - I'd have to look it up) the guitar was sent to Ovation and the new (at that time) Optima preamp and electronics were installed. The workmanship is absolutely flawless!

So - what's this wonderful guitar worth in 2006? Anyone intersted?

Shoot me an email and I'll send you some photos.

Welcome Songsender!
I checked out your website in the Profile and saw your Adamas and your Band mates CL.

Good stuff!

I am very interested... I am looking for a 1587-7 identical to the one I now own.... The difference is the colors..... I want one that has the older #7 color. The beige.... the newer one's, like mine, are beautiful and would match the great looking 1688-7 Fugot just bought but they have an almost white band around the outside of the body. The older color will match my older Adamas 1 1688-7.
I have sent an email.

Fugot??? Would you be interested in a great Adamas 1?? We would both have bookmatched acoustics????

If you get the guitar I can sell you an unsigned lable. It will increase the value of your new guitar.

I went in and looked at the band photo's as well. Very nice indeed. You guy's are very professional looking.

Saw the guitar, looks like the right color. I will have to see what the factory would want to make this with the sound holes on the bottom as well. ?? Hows the fret wear. 20 years as a main stage guitar is a lot of use. Sure looks good in the photo's !!

I'll try to get some detail shots done in the next day or two and get them posted to a web site where you can all look at them.

I've not completely decided if I'm going to sell this Adamas or not - but I'm entertaining the idea.

I'd ask why you're selling this guitar, but I don't want to hear that you're now playing Taylors.....

I was wondering when Bill was going to comment on the signed labels as a selling feature. I guess it's just not the same without the mystery - Cheers

Just wanted to let you all know that I am still pondering this decision. I'm heading to a Matt Smith clinic next week - and hope to discuss some things with him in regards to this guitar.

Hopefully I have a better idea of my plans at that time.

Thanks for the understanding - I'm sure you all know how hard it is to part with something I've had as long as this guitar. I think my son was wanting to inherit the Adamas some day.

I'll keep you all posted.
