Well StaningO, or Tupperware ...NOW I know why you like Ukes. I have never heard anyone play one like that, and didn't know they could get that good of sound from them. The only ones I've ever heard before were played by Tiny Tim and Don Ho, and I was never really impressed with them. (Sorry all you Tiny Tim and Don Ho fans)

"Staining O"?

That guy (Jake Shimabukuro?) is an inspiration.

Somebody posted that clip in a thread @ a month ago and I was blown away. I must have shown it to a dozen people and just about everyone's eyes popped out of their heads!

Forgive my ignorance, but is Jake playing a baritone uke? Aren't they tuned like the first four strings of a guitar?

What a wonderful player. The one thing I do not like is, that he celebrates his great talent.....and does not celebrate the song. It's not the right groove...at least in my feelings.

I am sure he has some great stuff of his own to play with his special touch.....and that will match much better.

I think StainingO told me before he turned to Tuppy that a baritone Uke was tuned like the first 4 strings on a guitar. I still had trouble playing it, but my excuse was that I had limited time and he had all these wonderful guitars that I wanted to try and he hands me a Martin and then a f---ing Ukelele.
