We were originally going to just drive to San Fran and then fly to Seattle but have now decided to drive all the way up. Any suggestions as to a fair and reasonable car rental company. Thanks AJ

But I don't know how competitive they are price-wise. I'm pretty familiar with the coast from San Francisco up through Oregon, and parts of Washington. Let me know where you're planning to spend the nights and I can give you some suggestions on where to stay and what to see. When do you touch down in LA?

Fantastic trip, take your time and don't be in a hurry to 'get there'. Good decision to drive instead of fly. You need someone to mind your UKII's while you're gone? Off on another tangent... looks like Friday night's out of the question. You up for grabbing a beer somewhere in Brizzy on Saturday afternoon?

We got a deal when we booked through United when we booked the air tickets. Most airlines have some sort of deal with a particular carhire company. Usually competitive.

They work out of a trailer in a parking lot behind a big hotel (no kidding) aout 2 miles from the airport. Get there via free hotel shuttle. I rented a PT Cruiser convertible in January, drove down to San Diego and all over the southland for about five days. Cost was less than $35 per day. Smaller cars were even cheaper. Booked it through Travelocity (888-872-8356).
