Theoretically, you could have the fretboard milled BETWEEN the "fret-wires", then redress the tops. I would expect that scenario to be a bit spendy, but its an idea, anyway. Or, as many of The Brethren have opined, "Learn to play slide."

These are usually guys as fanatic as some of us, but in a different flavor. Find someone who is up to the challenge in lieu of the money. I believe there was a post where the fretboard was leveled and slots were cut for the fret wire. The tangs were reduced and epoxy held the wire in. Option #338 would be to take up slide guitar...

Your crossbrace may be giving way, or the bridge is bellying up a bit. I have done a "bowl-bend" on an old "O" in the past to correct the neck "set" angle. Not for the faint of heart, to be sure!

At one point, I did buy a used neck and put it on, but that one had the neck block disintegrate. So I put the the old neck back on, installed a raised nut on it and now use it to goof around with slide. BTW, my neck is urelite with the rosewood fretboard, not aluminum ... or al-you-min-ium. ;)

He claims to have been knocked around and can only remember three chords... Actually, there are a lot of therapuetic players amongst us. Mostly it's the fellowship and exchange of wisdom. Glad your still here Jason.

They usually have nice pieces of spruce & mahogany in different sizes. You probably need a stick about 3/8 x 1 x 12 inches. Taper both ends. As for restoring the original plane to the fretboard extension area, go slow, and use a lot of cauls to raise the area evenly, and incrementally. The last one I did took about a month to get it right. You don't want to tear the fibers, just coerce them. Good luck!
