Joined: July 2005 Posts: 92 Location: Northeast Ohio | Hello everyone, i'm offering for sale 2 of my 12 strings. The first one is a 1976 Pacemaker model #1115-1. The second one i need some expertise in determining what year it is and if it is U.S. made or not. It is an Applause AA15. According to the serial# 115079 puts it at late 1977 to early 1978. But i thought i read in an earlier post that the 6 digit serial #'s don't apply to Applause's. Also when i unbolted the neck to repaint the fretboard(aluminum), stamped on the top above the soundhole was May 1981. Any Clue? The Pacemaker is in very good condition, but not mint or collectable. Sings beautifully. Applause is also in very good condition. If interested, email me and i have some very good pics of them. I would like to get $300.00 out of the Pacemaker and $150.00 out of the Applause. Pacemaker does come with original case, it is sturdy but needs work cosmetically.Applause comes with cheapo case.Shipping on each is probably 20.00. Thanks ,James

I have been hunting for a Ovation 12 as a 30th birthday gift for myself so a 1976 pacemaker would be perfect, since it was born when I was. So how difficult is it to change the strings on a 12 string slothead? I find changing a 12 a bit annoying and rather time consuming, and I always feel one hand too short when restringing slotheads. So imaging a pacemaker must be a bear to restring, though from everyone’s raves about them it must be worth it. -BCB

I did get a great reaction when I was broaching the possibility of getting another guitar to my wife right before going to sleep. I probably shouldn’t have said that I “was thinking of getting a pacemaker”. She was terribly concerned for my cardiac health, until I mentioned that it was another guitar. I will have to remember the tactic of startling the wife then asking for another guitar. I have to admit that she is very good about supporting my GAS attacks. When I was waffling on picking up my w597, since I wasn’t looking for another 6 string she made me buy it. Looking back, I have no clue why I even questioned grabbing a $425 Adamas and getting it out of the store before they realized how badly it was miss-priced. Sometimes it is nice to go to shops that think that all ovations are cheap plastic junk.

I'm trying to upload pictures and create a gallery so anyone interested in it can see it.But i'm having a little trouble and could use some advice. I'm using a good canon digital camera but all my pics excede the 100kb requirements to upload. What am i doing wrong? Thanks in advance, James

If using M.P.editor click on image, and scroll down to 'Resize'. Some of my pix in the 2 or 3 kb range have to be reduced to about 25%(the pix still come out large in the gallery at this size). Then if you open it back up in the windows picture and fax viewer, you can right click and go to properties to see the exact size before you upload. Sometimes I resize and it'll come out to 102mb or something, then I just go back and resize the original to 23% or something. You can also select 'Save As' and there is a box at the bottom that says 'More' where you can change the resolution to a lower setting if needed. Hope this helps.all my pics excede the 100kb requirements to upload. What am i doing wrong?
