Location: Boise, Idaho | We compared one of these to my 87 Collector at the NW Gathering. I couldn't tell the difference in sound, although there are a few differences in appearance. There weren't enough differences to make me want the Book Elite over the 87 or vice versa. They sound as nice as any Elite out there, slightly brighter and boomier than the 1537, but it's hard to describe the difference. |

Location: PDX | Like Mark said, we got to compare this guitar along side a number of other guitars at the PNWOFCG.
Personally, i thought the book was just too over the top gawdy. It bordered on downright ugly to me -- just too much flash.
Also, it didn't sound any better than a number of other great O's that were there. Like Mark's '87 Collectors, a number of 1537's, and tdeej's 1547 (which i thought was the best sounding and playing O i had the chance to play that day)
