Mine is just about mint with zero dings and dents, but the bowl paint is peeling badly around the hatch cover. The balance, resonance and sustain of these guitars are just amazing. The key thing to remember about uploading pictures to the gallery is not to exceed 100kb per pic. Congratulations.

Bad news though, you still NEED a U681T, or perhaps a A1/A2 for the textured top... preferably acoustic only (#47) and *something* with a 12 fret wide neck (do you like koa?) ... Oh, and a center hole model, with perhaps just the FET PRE-AMP and an endpin jack. In fact you NEED to have at least one pre-amp from each generation: Two knobber, stacked knob, OP-24/Optima, OP-30/50, OP-PRO/studio/VIP5. Am I helping your GAS problem?? :p :D :p :D

It truly is the Grand Daddy of the 1778LX. I find myself doing side by side comparisons quite frequently, and the verdict is: The same thing, but A LOT MORE of IT! The 1537 is my reference guitar for the woodtop, multi soundhole genre, period! Thanks also to the collective wisdom of the OFC. In the Light there is more Light!

Exceptions include the '87 Collectors and a few others. Phil, You can now only go "up" to satisfy GAS. The bar is set high. Have fun.

I suppose I could've missed the boat altogether! Thank GOD!
