Location: Calgary Canada | I recently acquired an all original but somewhat beat up Deacon. I've had a couple of Ovations over the years but this is the first of this shape. First thing I noticed was how well balanced the guitar is to sit with. Second thing I noticed was that the selector switch knob was cracked and snapped off in my hand. Anybody know where i can find a 4 pole tripple throw replacement for it? |

Location: GA USA | Philmax asked me the other night what a Deacon was like. That's what I told him... It's extremely comfortable to play sitting or standing.
Good luck with the switch, and welcome to the club! |

Location: Fairfax, VA | That's one thing I've noticed about the Deacon. It's not a light guitar. My buddy's first response was "It feels like I'm wearing a Les Paul or a V" but it's extremely well-balanced. sitting it's just plain comfortable. Standing it's more comfortable than you'd expect for the weight. |

Location: Calgary Canada | As it's mahogany you'd expect a Deacon to weigh more like an SG instead of a Paul but i think the body is thicker than an SG. It's funny, i've had a couple of vipers years ago and they seemed lighter than a Tele (probably because they were thinner). Always loved the pickups from a Viper but never liked the necks. |
