Location: Alberta, Canada | What do you guys think of this one. I may be interested but, I'm a little concerned about what appears to be a crack between the headstock and the neck. And is the value close or not?

Location: Pacific Northwest Inland Empire | If it was a BIN of $399.00, it would be gone. I'd take up a sniper position for the auction closing. Yeah, the neck blemish looks like a finish crack. Took a good shot to the peghead, at some point. |

...I don't know...for the money, I think I'd look for a solid 1711 Balladeer myself. Now find one of those babys for around $300.00...then you know you got somethin!

Location: Scotland | That's a real early one. Check out the tuner buttons. Also no carved bridge & rod cover, inlaid abalone diamonds instead. |

Norse(JMHO ;) )man1 According to the Ovation timeline, the CL started to get the Abalone trim in '88

Not sure of the date but it was a lot earlier than that, maybe 1976-1978. |

Location: boulder | These are sweet guitars (when in nice shape). The early cl's had Mother of pearl, not abalone. I am not sure when the gold logo, inlaid Mop and non carved bridge changed to inlaid logo and abalone inlays and carved trc/ bridge. But I have only seen two early 1119's (one mine and this one) and one a/e 1619 (thanks again jeff), plus one other member has an early 1619 aslo. so they are rare-ish. plus they all have handpicked tops, so that helps, just my late late night thoughts.
