Location: Bluffton, SC | At the risk of being burned in effigy, up for sale here is a Tak EAN10C. Specifics can be found here and lots of pics can be found here . This guitar is spotless and pretty much perfect save for one very small spot on the bottom of the guitar which proved very hard to photograph. A great guitar being moved only so that I can fund a 1537 courtesy of our own Woody.
Asking price is $750, plus actual s&h but offers will be entertained. Shoot me emails with any interest - off to eBay in a week. |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | I think a Takamine is kinda like an Ovation, in the same way that a Pinto is kinda like a Mustang. So I don't think anyone has a bonfire brewing.
I've actually looked at a Takamine before. |

I do think Takamine is owned/affiliated with Kaman somehow. And I looked at/played with a Takamine once... That was where I decided on an Ovation.
(I also tried a Fender A/E and didn't like it, but maybe it was that particular Fender.) The Tak had a nice sound, but they wanted more than I could afford.
I just turned-to Ovation. I remembered playing with one back in the 70's, when I knew 2 chords.
Now I know seven chords. |

Location: Hiram, Georgia | Garth Brooks played Tak. Went to a music store with one of those seperate rooms for the Martins and Taylors, they didn't have any O's at all. On the sales floor they had Epi's, Fenders, Yamaha's, and a few Taks. The best sounding guitar in the place was a Tak w/cooltube,
Went back a couple mo's later and only the Martins were in the seperate room, they kicked the Taylors to the doghouse with the rest of the junk. I left that day with a grin from ear to ear! |

Location: Bluffton, SC | I've heard mixed reviews on the cool tube. Haven't actually sat down and played with one myself but a couple buds have and they couldn't have been farther opposites with their reviews. I walked away thinking that it, as usual, is very subjective and probably depends on what you want it to sound like. But I'm a fan of the Tak models in general. Very easy to play and when I hear them played out, they seem to cut through the mix and stand out, not unlike Ovations. And I was really partial to the cedar top sound - probably one of the reasons why I fell immediately in lust with the FD-14 when I played JW's last year at the Tour. |

Location: Chehalis, Washington | The cooltube is supposed to be awesome, from the reviews I've heard. My little Tak concert body is a Koa/Cedar combo that just rings, and for an $800 retail guitar, it's awesome. Plus, being from Kaman, great electronics. |

And thanks everybody for chiming in on the pluses here (that Tak is affiliated with Kaman and that they're great sounding instruments) - much appreciated! |

| The Tak you are selling is a very nice one! Current list price is $1,495.00, so great deal for someone!
The cool tube is nice, on par with the Op-Pro Studio. The tube gives the Tak great warmth and a lot of punch, which is to be expected. The down sides...it is not available on any models with a list price of less than $2,000.00 and it eats AA batteries like you would not believe! It holds 4 of them and the high end lithiums will last maybe 4 hours of plugged in time, your standard energizers will be dead before the end of the second set. |
