Location: liverpool ,england | was thinking of buying this guitar but what puts me off was it was bought in may last year on ebay for $510 and he wants $899 buy it now plus my shipping on top to the UK what do you guys think? |

VAT, import duty and shipping will take it up to around £650. What else could you buy over here for that kind of money that is comparable? A current Folklore LX costs more than that to me at dealer price. |

Location: South of most, North of few | I think jason would agree with me on this one. Even though it might be "rare" to find a 1614 in black, doesn't it seem that a natural finish would be more appealing in the fact that it couldn't have any flaws that could be covered up with paint? |

Location: ranson,wva | i agree with you jim, i personaly like the #4 finish becaues in the event of a scratch or crack the repair is less noticable on a natural finish. besides im extreamly anal about fingerprints on a guitar and the black is a magnent for prints..if i had a black guitar id be wiping it off everytime i touch it and my wife would swear ive got ocd lol...jason |

Location: South of most, North of few | I know what you mean about the fingerprints! I am the same way, and the celeb 2001 I had in the bcb finish drove me nuts! As it is, the 1115 in tobacco sunburst is hard enough to keep clean. Thats another reason I like the Adamas. You could play that after doing an oil change on your car, and never know the difference with the textured finish! |

Location: big island | They could not include the W597 in that Adamas ad. My Cobalt is also a fingerprint magnet. And there's plenty fingerfoods at the luaus I play for! My next Adamas will definitely be an older model with a textured top. I'm considering a black 1688-5 12 stringer. Anyone have comments on this model?

Location: Chehalis, Washington | Nice choice. I've had two Adamas II's, both texture top, and both are marvelous. I would never trade in for an SMT model.
The 1688's are rare - but do show up from time to time. Be patient, or save your pennies and custom order a brand-new one. Always a great way to go. |

Location: liverpool ,england | yes i bought the black folklore must admit i've never seen one like this b4 looks like its in good nick was hoping to buy one in sunburst but the black ones growing on me i have 7 guitars now martin d41, ovation 97 collectors, 1114 folklore, fender telecaster, prs mcarty standard , gibson nick lucas, my better half tells me you can only play one at a time, guess i am turning into a guitar tart, anyway enough waffling many thanks to all who gave me replies and advice. |
