Location: College Station, Tx | I recently aquired a preacher in pretty poor condition, however, the hardware is mostly intact and the guitar appears to be salvagable. Im looking for a pickguard, a second set of tone and volume knobs, tuning pegs and any screws that hold pickguard in place ( most were stripped by previous owner)
parts could be original or NOS (New Old Stock) but id prefer to stay away from knock off parts if i can help it.....
if it wasnt 25 bucks at a garage sale i wouldnt have even bothered....but i know what its worth.....and would like to restore it......
Thanks |

There are a few people that hqve some of the NOS stuff you need. Miles on ebay in the "Sunny Ledges" store is good.
I remake a lot of the pickguards with wood veneer and have a Maple and a Koa set sitting around. What color is your Preacher's body?
You can replace the pups with 500k pots from several sources.
I replace the pickguard screws with "Gibson" style from Stewmac since the originals that Ovation usedare too thin and snap off on occasion.
Customer Service at Hamer/Ovation can provide a lot of your answers as well!
Look in my Gallery at some past projects! |

Location: Marlton, NJ | Hiney - welcome! Your post is pretty much the same as my first post here... the only difference is it was my old preacher that needed resurrecting.
So... I found all of the parts and haven't stopped buying parts since! There's a whole string of guitars coming down the line after the Preacher is done!
Have fun,
Mike |
