This would be another outstanding piece of hardware that you will probably not outgrow anytime soon for that HOME STUDIO you are putting together!

Excellent condition with all the latest firmware updates. Can be rack mounted but mine sat on a shelf for most of it's life in the studio. Original packaging and manuals.

$500 shipped in lower 48 states. Check if you live elsewhere.

Last chance before going to ebay.

Talk to me if you're interested!

I think I'm interested...do you have the mark of the unicorn software that is usally included with this piece of hardware? I think my outdated pro-tools software needs to be upgraded to match the new high tech equipment.

I plan on using this with a laptop, and I think this would be the hardware for firewire recording, without putting strain on the computer's CPU...

Please let me know if you still have, and if you are paypal equipped.

thanks - Lawrence

llampton,

I am pretty sure it is all still in the original box since the software was Mac only and I use the PC. I can double check when I get home.

Paypal is fine.

I have the M-Audio 1814 which is similar to this (admittedly, Stephen's is a nicer unit - at a great price!). They work GREAT with laptops. You'll need a 6 pin to 4 pin firewire cable (but if you have a digital camcorder you already know that...).

I would like to take it off your hands. I'm not sure how the exchange procedure would work best...would things have to go through an ebay auction, or is there another secured route.

I thought that these were originally sold with an intermediate version of digital performer...I am using a fire wire equiped windows laptop now for my digital camcorder...do you have any software that would bring out the best of the MOTU 828?

I'm out of time for today, but will check back on the exchange procedures.

thanks
Lawrence

Well, the software that comes from MOTU is MAC only. The software is AudioDesk which is a scaled down version of Digital Performer (mac only). Drivers are for both Windows and Mac with the latest versions available for download from the MOTU site.

If you want to pay through Paypal, I would just send you an invoice that you would pay. You would want to send me on offsite email direct to me with your paypal account info and confirmed paypal address.

You can also send me a certified check/money order for the funds. I believe I have had enough dealings with members of the OFC that they could/would vouch for my honesty and quality of equipment.

Sorry, forgot about your software question.

It depends on what platform you are going to use (your windows laptop or a mac based DAW) and also what type of music you want to play/record.

Reason is an incredibly popular and powerful piece of software that does everything you would want except audio input.

Cubase is great xover software that I personally use.

Sonar/Cakewalk is popular....

If you are asking me if I personally have some software available, then yes I have some software I no longer use or have upgraded to newer versions. We can discuss that stuff in private emails if you are interested.
