If you honestly won the auction according to the rules, then he is risking a serious negative feedback. I looked at his rating and there was one buyer who apparently missed a paypal option and got nothing but grief from him. Other than that he has a good rating.

He realizes he didn't get enough money for it, and is threatening to void the auction." That is one of the upsides of Paypal. Fast payment and the onus of completion is on the Seller.

If he sent you his address to mail the check right away, the earliest you could've gotten it out was Saturday, maybe Monday if you got him the postal money order HE requested. It's only Thursday. He has nothing to worry about until next Monday at the earliest, especially if you've been in contact with him about the payment status etc. Was he willing to deduct the additional costs of USPS Priority or ExpressMail from the cost of the guitar?

And for this particular auction, he's shipping it by UPS ground (cross country) after the check clears. So I've got to wait at least 2 or 3 weeks before I'll ever even see the guitar. Considering that, you'd think he'd be less worried about making the transaction as fast as possible. AND, he didn't threaten me with negative feedback until I sent him the e-mail telling him the check was in the mail. What a punk.

I did the EXP23 Baritone set... those were good, but almost too heavy unless I tuned all the way down to A or Bb. The size of them felt alright. But the strings that seem to be working best for me is the set of the same 14's that Bill likes, and tune them to about C or C#. From there I'll use alternate/drop tunings, and it never gets too slinky or anything. So I just ordered a couple sets of custom matched coated strings from JustStrings.com that is just a touch heavier than the heavies (to accomodate the detuning) .014 .018 .027 .039 .049 .060

Some sellers are more responsive than others. I paid just $20 for shipping and insurance from Phoenix to Tennessee. My guitar arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Of course, I paid by a bank wire and the seller had his money immediately. But, Ebay is risky at times...buyer beware.

Apparently he has just recently had some problems with a non-paying bidder of a $6 CD... and was pre-emptively frustrated with me. Not fair, but understandable, I guess. I'll post again when I get the guitar, and am officially an Ovation owner!
