Elite Bass

DANG! I missed it by $10 in the final seconds! That natural finish Elite would have looked mighty fine next to my six strings. I wasn't going to go to $800, but I had GAS like you wouldn't believe. If anyone knows of another one for that price, I am seriously interested.

Man that would have been a good grab! I still can't believe how much value some of the better Ovations have lost lately. These elite basses even ones like this one with the medium bowl are very expensive besses new. I was never able to make an acoustic bass sound like anything through an amp without a lot of work before I tried my elite. I have this acoustic bass running through a Hartke preamp and a little zoom bass pedal and a noise reducer and a morley volume/wha set up.I crank up the bass eq drop most of the mids out and crank the treble end to ten and I can make it growl like Squire's Rickenbacker! You just can't do that with an acoustic bass! For some reason these Ovations electronics work fantastic compared to other acoustic basses.

No, you missed it by at LEAST $10. but probably more. You have no idea how much the winning bidder actually put in as his max. When I lose an auction, I always convince myself that the winning bidder had some huge maximum, that way I don't don't feel like I "just missed". Dave

Yeah ... You're probably right. I guess it just wasn't my lucky day. That's why I don't play the lotto.

Now that I've had a night to think about it, I probably need a longneck more than another bass right now.
