Looks like you can't give away a 1114-4 anymore so in effort to fund gas i'm putting my 82 collectors up for sale. A few minor dings, new nanowebs, new battery. Plays great with plenty of room to remove shims. $400.00 plus shipping. I still have not been able to post pics but i can email them. Why so cheap, no case and want cash fast.

I will be out in the morning for several hours but will be back by 1pm. I'll contact you then. As of now, I haven't gotten your email yet but I know that you said you'd be out so no problem.

I am pleased to announce that this fine vintage 82 Collector's is on its way to my home! I am preparing a place for it and have notified all my other guitars to expect a new arrival.

My first two knobber. :D

Enjoy it.
That color was first used on a custom made for Earl Thomas Connelly. We liked it so much it made it to the first C-Series.

Wow, thanks for the information...I think that the pearloid buttons on the tuners against the blue matching headstock is really beautiful. I also just visited Dave's site and looked at the Adamas Glen Campbell guitar: I noticed it has the same Kaman Music Group label as my Black 87 C. Too Cool!

stretching the memory, I don't think ETC's had a matching head stock. The 82 was a really nice one.

This one comes with an Ovation Soft case (originally from a Folklore). Does the two knobber take a different case or will an standard deep/full depth brown or black case work? Anyone have a decent one at a nice price? (nice as in not too expensive?. There is one on the bay but ot looks a bit rough. But I suppose a case is just a case...Was the original case brown in 1982?

Well, UPS brought a package from Bro. Ronnie for me today and the 1982-8 absolutly blew me away. My daughter has claimed this as her won (she's four and 1/2) because its so beautiful(her words) Know what? She's right. This 25 year old is in great condition with nust a couple of small marks on the top and a pristene back and neck. And the headstock is to die for! It came with a new set of Elixirs so all I did was polish eht top and tune her up. Mellow but responsive, this two knober sounds great either flat or fingern picked. Intonation is superb and acoustically , it's very nice indeed. I haven't had a chance to play it plugged in yet but I will tomorrow. I got home late and the baby was just going to bed. Here are several pic's and more are in my gallery. Mikes 1982-8 #297 #297 Beautiful! Blueburst

This guitar is #297; Came with am original fiber case and I'll be getting a new black case.
Ill post more when I get a chance this weekend.

Congrats and I know what you mean Mike. I bought Tuppy's beater 82 to have out and about for the kids, friends, etc. My son took a real shine to it and ended up recording two songs with it while home before deploying.

Ummm...That case may be mine. And I freely admit that you were quite generous in your description of it. But the ad cost me a little over a dollar, and I was just gonna chuck it, so I thought I'd give eBay a shot at it. After actually getting bids, I'm beginning to believe anything will sell on that site to somebody!

Hey everyone, found a solution; the original case from my 87C fits the 82 perfectly so I have ordered a brand new case from Musicians Friend (the premimum 9158) for $99 on sale...This will look great with the my Black 87C as the guitar is near mint anyway (the 82 isn't too bad either). So, one more aquisition that will hopefully help my daughter to learn to play and create! Music is a wonderful gift and she has been so active musically since she was just a few months old (Really!) Last night as I was playing it, she came up to me and said :Daddy, is that really my guitar?" When I said "yes, do you want to hold it", she came up and wrapped both arms around it and gave it a small kiss...Precious Moments brought to you by the folks at the big red brick Mothership by way of a great member named Ronnie. Thanks!

MusicMishka, Thanks for the kind words, i'm glad you like the guitar. It's a heck of a first guitar for your daughter and i'm glad you think its a keeper. It was a pleasure doing business with you and i enjoyed talking with you by phone about guitars, kids, hurricanes and firetrucks. Looking forward to the next time you come down south, Thanks Ronnie..

Hey Mishka, that's a beautiful guitar

...I must say I'm quite partial to the blue (I have a 1687 in blue) and I'm suprised that they haven't used that colour more, it's very Ovation

Was it only to be used for the 82' perhaps

Maybe CWK11 could chime in here

Richard,
Thanks so much! Actually, he already did (see his earlier posting) and he explains how they came up with this color. The original COA stated: "We certify that its unique combination of features and blue sunburst color will only be used on this Ovation Collectors Series Guitar and will not be produced again after this run."
I wanted to upload a picture of the COA, but the gallery is not co-operating. :(
