Hello everybody,

I know this has never happened to anyone else on this forum  , but a recent GAS attack has left me dangerously short on funds. So some items have to go on the block. I'll entertain offers on any of the following. They are all in good shape at least. None of these are junkers or played out.

2005 Collector's: Like new condition with a brand new case. Asking $975.

1989 Collector's: Great shape and sound; no case: two small finish cracks and dings; no structural issues. Great guitar! Lowered price from my other thread; asking $535.

1976 Patriot LTD: Beautiful Condition! Fantastic sound! Brand new case; one small finish crack; preamp (non-Ovation, but sounds nice); super-nice guitar. Asking $765

Please feel free to ask questions. I can provide more pictures. I might consider trades, especially if other Collector's series, a mandocello, or an MM-68 Mandolin are involved. But I need the money more. I will also ship overseas, but check with me first to make sure it's feasible/affordable.

These are great guitars, you will not be disappointed in any of them. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I know I'm probably setting myself up here, but I'm surprised this thread didn't get at least some comments; not too mention at least a few inquiries. Am I missing something? Asking too much? (Not that anyone pays the asking price anyway mind you.  )

If I'm out of line, let me know. (Preferably in a tactful fashion. :) )

Some of us just might be tapped out. Been a bunch of buys lately. My daughter just informed me that SWMBO told her I broke our "agreement" not to buy anything for a couple years after the OFC guitar. It was more of an order than an agreement and a $150 Ultra GS shouldn't count.

What's the action like on the '05?

The action on mine sucks, but I love everything else about it.

I could be interested, depending on how urgently you need to sell. I'd have to sell an '05 to buy an '05.

Hi Muzza,

Admittedly, action is a preference thing. But I think mine is about perfect. I've got it set fairly low. The intonation is spot on too.

I just can't get used to the contour bowl. When I'm sitting down, I love it. When I'm standing, I can't get it to rest comfortably. (I've tried 4 different straps!)

And boy don't I know the sell one to buy one deal. I'm committed for CWK2's Patriot #76. I need to get that money back into my account fast. Sending that check put me dangerously low.

BTW, all three guitars are now on eBay as BIN/Best Offer transactions. Let me know if you're an OFC member if you submit an offer. Here are the links:

I'm with Mark. I'm on a "no buy" order from the SHMBO for now, plus my guitar fund is zero. Otherwise I would be interested in the Patriot.

Lucky for me, I get to buy my son an electric - so I still get to shop!

Allegedly, I had made a promise not to buy any new guitars this year, as well. I figure that a) the 1681 from Arthur is used and b) I sold one to buy one (and I'm in reduction mode on top of that!). So, I'm abiding by. The missus doesn't see it that way, though.

Hoo boy!

No Offers for the '89 on eBay. It's back up as no reserve, but I sure wish someone here would make a decent offer. Gimme a chance; you might be surprised! :D

Paging Roundback!

Is that you as the high bidder on the '89 Collector's?

PM me if you want to make an offer; I might be able to save you a lot of suspense. ;)

I'm roundback on eBay. The '89 is not my ideal guitar right now, but it looks a nice one for someone.

How's this for frustrating?

I finally got an offer from my eBay auction for the '05 that I'm willing to accept. Problem is, I did not get it until after the auction closed. Now eBay will not let me respond to the offer because I am not presently dealing with this member in a open auction.

Th most infuriating thing is the guy lives 40 minutes away! I'd look him up in the phone book if I had his last name!

It really bugs me that I might have to eat another listing fee just to hopefully find this buyer again.

Anyway, it looks like the '89 is going to sell as well later tonight.

That leaves the Patriot. Anyone want to make an offer? :D :D

It's a bad time to be a seller. I took a beating on the 2006 collectors. Too many choices right now to get a decent value, especially on the collector's series.
