No sauce here............. http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/msg/362223180.html Ovation Celebrity acoustic/electric - $100 Reply to: sale-362223180@craigslist.org Date: 2007-06-28, 12:07PM EDT This is a tobacco burst Ovation Celebrity acoustic/electric that I have had since the early 90's. This has the deep bowl and no cutaways. Ovations are known for their comfort and playability. The neck is like an electric neck on an acoustic body. The rounded back increases playing comfort. Has volume and tone knobs and hardshell case. Neck is bound rosewood w/diamond inlays. Body has binding too. There is also nice leaf-like inlay around soundhole. This is a great beginners acoustic/electric. Has nice full sound when unplugged. The model # is CC67 and was made in Korea. I am original owner. Please see my other listings including Gibson SG, Peavey EVH 5150 combo amp, Fender Bullet Reverb combo amp, Seagull Acoustic/electric w/hard case, 1986 Ibanez Roadstar II RG440 electric w/Floyd Rose and hard case, Digitech GNX3 multi fx w/8-track recorder, and Dunlop Crybaby wah pedal.

I'm planning to purchase Chris's Pandora project which I think will be a fine start for me in a bowl-back Ovation. Will let you all know if I buy anything else in the meantime or if I am interested in the one in Florida, in case anyone here is nearby and can take a peek. You guys are the best! Thanks again.

I'm still on for Chris's Pandora and looking forward to it. Meanwhile I'm watching losts of listings in ebay and searching the craig's list. Here's a listing I wonder if some of you could tell me about - http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/msg/353594531.html Does anyone have experience with the seller - calls himself jqballer1 in the email address. Is the seller a member here? I'm interested in the acoustic guitar shown at bottom right. Can anyone tell me what it is and what they usually go for? Thanks much.

Joined: June 2007 Posts: 100 Location: Delaware | Steve - thanks for the heads up. I've been watching that one along with several others. I'm tempted - it's American made and even with the laminate top w/cracks, it's a good deal - deep bowl... could pick up a case in ebay later. One thing I notice is that the seller has it set up for a right hander but the neck strap button is placed for a left hander - hmmm. I stood down on a really nice Ultra Deluxe that ended a few minutes ago... beautiful and deep bowl although laminate and Korean made. I have my eyes on the vintage Balladeer with solid Sitka Spruce top... ending in 4 days... my thinking is it will go for more but if I can swing it, that might be the better move for me - it has almost everything I am looking for - deep bowl, solid spruce, American made. Doesn't have wide nut that I want and will not stay below $200. If it stays around $300-350 I may suck it up and go for it. Currently I'm trying to decide whether to hold my fire and make a move on one guitar that will satisfy my itch... and pay more for it vs getting something for less as an introduction to Ovation bowl-back guitars... and move up later. Tough call. Thanks again.

It didn't move and he took it off. Might be worth a try if you're leaning that direction now. Sometimes the neck strap buttons were on the bottom below the neck, back when the volume knob was on the top.

One of my many endeavors has been producing miniature sculptures in pewter. I have 2 chess pieces both Norse in design. If I can contact Norseman I will show him those sculptures in case he might want one. Thanks again.

Joined: June 2007 Posts: 100 Location: Delaware | Mark - I sent Norseman, also known as Scott)man1 an email yesterday. I had a reply waiting this morning. He said he has been away from the forum some time now due to family healther issues but asked me to say hi to everyone for him. He owns 10 Ovations and still has the Balladeer. Scott and I are working out a deal and it looks like your tip toward the Norseman Balladeer is going to produce fruit and become my first Ovation - an American made 1711 in great condition. Thanks very much!

Scott is a very nice guy, and that guitar is a very nice example of the breed. I know you will enjoy that one! Congrats!

Joined: June 2007 Posts: 100 Location: Delaware | Thanks Jim - yep - your pass is my gas! Either way some gas was passed! I'm spending more than I had planned but I'm sure the result will be best. I'm looking forward to taking my first Ovation Splash with Scott's 1711 Balladeer - going to be sweet! Special thanks again to Mark for suggesting I contact Norseman (Scott) and also to John for offering me his beautiful, mint tabacco Celebrity with case for $100 - I'm sure that was well worth the money and would have served me well. I'll let everyone know what I think of Ovation Balladeer sound and playability when I get it and spend some time working an E chord.
