You're right as far as the 'bling'. Ovation has built a reputation on lots of glittery appointments, day glow colored tops and sophisticated electronics. Nothing wrong with that. I think the FD14 screws with peoples minds. They see a guitar that's plain jane and it looks and sounds every bit like a Lowden or Goodall. It costs 1/3 the price and says ovation on it and that just doesn't seem right.

Since they "can't" reissue it (that would make The Mothership liars having said it was a limited edition), maybe they can now think about making a more general edition of it with fret markers, a nicer rosette and a contour bowl.

| I had a chance at one of these.... a couple months ago... at about 1/2 that price... then another member found out about it... and he asked me to let him buy it instead... I deferred and I think he did buy it.. I never checked back.
if he didn't I want back in that deal RC!!
.... been kickin myself ever since.. wasn't minty, but then none of mine are except the Breadwinner..
I really have come to love the wider necks..
the 1114 is nice... but is no comparison to a FUD or a UTE

Glenn, I agree with you, I'm really liking these wider necks.
