Since I live a semi-sheltered life in semi-rural Nebraska, I hadn't heard of Babicz guitars. He has some interesting innovative design features.

one might say unneccessary and a tad over stated but certainly eye catching , does it do anything or is it just decorative ( people have asked the same question of me )

Too much string. I'd be tempted to start plucking the top of the guitar.

It has a "Lateral Compression Sound Board" and a "Torque Reducing Split Bridge".

Certainly is different.

I know it looks like a gimmick ... but ...

I've played these guitars (not these exact guitars, but other bab's) and they are excellent. Plus they're made in New York. I was really surprised by how well they sounded.

Actually, they are made in Indonesia; web site says so...the handmade models are made by Babicz himself in his shop: they go for over 6 grand...the regular lines are imported. I am sure they are very nice guitars; the technology is first rate and the feedback from owners/players is excellent!

maybe i'm an ignorant, but i don't believe in all that "string thru body" thing in guitars (electric and acoustic). I don't see how it could improove sustain, because (from what i see) string is vibrating in area between nut and bridge, and after the saddles strings are still. and i don't see how they could improve sustain.

Oh well, a few years ago, jeff carano, the vice president, let me try some of the company's guitars. I don't if he's still there.

Let me rephrase my prior statement ...
Babicz is a New York company that used to make all their guitars in upstate New York (the last I knew) and now I suppose most of their product is made in indonesia. As of four years ago, when I played the guitars, they were first class. And given the strange design, sounded great.

hate it when that happens.
I've not heard anything bad about these guitars, just that they look a little strange.
Someone should grab it.........

Always thought these were very interesting guitars. I'd love to try one sometime.

Good luck with the sale. I think someone here should help a brother out and buy this. See, I'm good at spending other peoples money!
