| This one is back and seems to be getting more attention than last time. I am wondering why this model was not as highly esteemed as the 1537. Ebay# 300173709258 |

Location: closely held secret | Good question, I've never played one. Maybe they just hadn't gotten the bracing quite right yet? |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | I think they did away with the wood binding for one thing (too difficult and time consuming). The electronics are definitely different.(no knobs and I don't believe there is are the stereo jacks. Aside from that I don't know. I also wonder if the bracing and the plywood in the upper bout is the same? |

Location: SoCal | I am wondering why this model was not as highly esteemed as the 1537 You mean aside from the fact that it's got a rosewood fingerboard (1537 had walnut), chrome tuners, regular body binding (not wood), a lower grade top, and less attractive epaulets (personal opinion)?
Aside from all that, probably no difference at all.... |

| So the 1537 was a definite improvement with aesthetics, but a better grade top and bracing made for improved acoustics, assuming the bracing is the same. Really, I was just curious, not trying to rattle anybody's cage... |

Location: SoCal | Steve, you didn't rattle anybody's cage. The 1537 was the first Elite made and a great deal of care and high quality went into it. It was built for a year and a half (1983-84) at the Mooseup factory. I believe at that time, the Adamii were built there as well.
When production went to New Hartford, the materials were, for lack of a better word, cheapened. The Elites have always been great guitars. The 1537 was just a step up from the rest.... |

| One of the ebayers seemed to think that as well, but the seller claims the label identifies it as a 1735. I thought this was an interesting guitar because of it's age and unique identity as a Legend 'Elite' model. I'm thinking after 22 years the top has aged to vibrate quite well and might rival the sound of a few 1537's out there. |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Paul, you are exactly right. This guitar is however, as Steve suggests, probably aged to a fine degree: I think the eppi's, while not a beautiful as most, are different and look cool with a -4 top. It really blows me away to see these great instruments as such ridiculous prices. Someone here should grab this one! |
