Joined: October 2005 Posts: 4081 Location: Utah | For sale, a set of three passive EMG Select pickups. One humbucker and two single coils. These were recently replaced in my Hohner G3T with DiMarzios. They are about six months old and in excellent used condition. They have a very clean and neutral sound, with a medium or classic output strength. Not suitable for heavy metal or high overdrive. Not fat or crunchy. Not protypically Les Paul or Strat sounding either. Clean and neutral sums it up. Harmony Central has some reviews. The humbucker, model SEHG, has a 3 conductor wire, with ground (black), hot (white), and center tap (red) connections. It meters out at about 8.6k ohms on my cheap multimeter. The center tap meters out at 4.5k ohms. I can't find any specs on EMGs website, so I offer my unoffical measurements. The single coils are model SES with a two conductor wire. Black is ground, white is hot. They meter out at 5.9k ohms. Unofficial numbers on the www say 6.2k ohms is factory spec, but I cannot verify those numbers. EMG describes it as a dual coil dual blade design which reduces buzzing and humming. They have been totally hum free for me. All the pickups are potted in what seems like epoxy. The plastic covers have metal threaded inserts for the mounting screws. Mountng screws included. Two springs for the humbucker are available if you want them. The lowest discount internet pricing is about $23 new for the humbucker and $22 for the single coils. I'd like to get $40 for the set, shipping included to US addresses.
