Does anyone know why they discontinued these models?

Welcome Kieth!
Here's my guesses:

A) Because the production effort was nothing like the real "Q" concept?

B) Because the instrument was no more fascinating than the less expensive models already available?

C) The Buying Public is fickle?

D) Everybody was broke after buying "Relic'd" Fenders?

E) An Alien conspiracy prompted by Ron Paul?

Ovation should really consider making the real Q. Composites are gonna start becoming more common...

You go to "my profile" choose "edit profile" and go to the field "signature" where you can write whatever you want displayed as your signature in your posts.

is it a natural(grey) graphite cross-weave or cobalt blue? not that I have a price range, but would be interested in it if it's not too far out there.. and you find a number you could live with.. I'm sure there's more than a few here that would like to own one.

there weren't many made, 12s are rarer, and have only seen a couple for sale in the past 4 years.

Meg's is pretty cool...and the food's good.. as well as the selection of ales, beers, and whiskeys...

the wife and I are down there every now and then.. usually on lighter nights.

St Paddy's there is NUTS!! and downtown Melbourne is rocking that night... our daughter Kelly is the one always wearing the full length bright green mohair coat and top hat..

we'll probably be there... it's SRO on SPD tho..

Standing room only on St Patrick's Day

or as my Father used to say... A$$#01es and elbows

Meg's is busy on most nights... St Pat's of course is their busiest.

I'm sure it will be a great night.

BTW Keith,

who's the Mel High alumnus? you? or one of your bandmates?

if you or a band member, what year?.. Char, and her kids have been here since 69(kids later)ain't that always the case.. some of the kids graduated from Mel High and others from Eau Gallie, Char graduated in 73... kids in the 90's through last year..when we finally got the last one through commencement.
