I would say $500 to $1000. But the stained top due to the pickguard would be a deal breaker for me. To some it might not matter, but I couldn't live with it like that. Dave

And Dave, I just saw the shiny bowl and stuck it up here. Only then did I see that pick-guard shadow. I don't suppose there is anything you could do about it either...

Old Waylon was an odd duck and he insisted on hiding a 100 dollar bill under the pickguard of all his guitars for good luck. Well, the Ovation didn't have a pickguard so he had to put one on it to keep the hundie under. You used to wash his car for him and one day he gave you the guitar as a gift. But a few years later you were down on your luck and had developed a pretty good cocaine habit and one day you really needed the hundred for a score, so you ripped the pickguard off the guitar to get at the cash. And that's the reason it looks like it does.I don't suppose there is anything you could do about it either...

That would be me...I told him horror stories (true) about getting a early 70's Ovation that the seller shipped w/o a case to me years ago..it was destroyed...This seller has a good feedback record. It's only a chipboard case but any protection is better than no protection...I think its a nice guitar (even w/the pickguard shadow)...starting to get up there in price now.
