One of Ovations Rarer models... a player in good or better shape. made for the Japan Market/distributor

very few stayed in or made it back to the states, this is not an FRG, I sold that one a few months back.

dark brownburst with abalone everywhere.. neck binding/purfling, and top binding/purfling and ivory binding surrounding all that sparkly shell on the body and neck

DEEP Bowl!

rosewood fretboard, 5 piece neck and maple elite inlays and..... a....

AAAA yes that's a 4A master-grade top!!

op24 with garage door bat box and the output jack is in the right place on the edge of the bowl.

it could use a trip to the mother ship if you'd like the finish cracks taken care of, the fretboard is a little worn in the cowboy chord area, but frets are in decent shape, action is great, and is currently strung with mediums.

one ding on headstock at the corner of the headplate on the bass side where it routes to the duckbill, the guitar has small nicks and scratches but none that are horrible, and most will buff/clean out easily.

this is a belly-rumbler of an elite and while there is a ton of "Bling" on this one, with the dark finish/brown-burst it really looks more classy than flashy.

based on my current experiences with the mother ship it should cost around $350 to make this one "as new" no major components need replacement or repair, and basically just needs a light re-finish and fretboard leveled if you feel you have to.. but really not that bad.

with the 1537 here the craftsman is being neglected, and it really is a fine instrument that needs some love and attention.

looking to trade for a hollow body electric either in a 335, Jazz-box, or thinline tele style. a bigsby would be a nice plus on the tele or 335.

the grandpa 12 shipped back to CT yesterday to have the split X brace repaired, if they have to re-top it, I am having it braced modified A this time... I thought it was kinda funny, Kim told me he wouldn't do an A brace for me the first time because it would fold up on me... then I get an X brace that IS folding up on me...

They're also gonna install a thinline, and battery box and endpin preamp from a FUD... should be a great addition. I can't wait till it gets back.

I'll have pics of the Nakao up later today.. Char has the camera over at the baby's house today..

anyone interested in the Craftsman shoot me an e-mail or pm... it is a Really nice Ovation, pretty rare, and sounds spectacular.

I like the 1537 well enough, it is beautiful and opening up nicely... so I'll keep it and let the Nakao go to another that desires it.

don't pass this one up... includes ohsc in good shape.

Thanks,

Glenn

Glenn: Were you ever able to get information on the production numbers for the N768's?

some fresh pics... dust and all..

this one shows the finish cracks, there are 2 long curved ones... one curling from the bridge, and the other curling up from the bout... neither one runs with the grain and are hard to see unlesss the light hits them right.

Plagarism saves time.

I got an N768 last month just like this one and used it with the church group I'm in last night for the first time. I've never had a multi-hole Ovation and I was amazed at the fullness of the sound.

The few of us that have been blessed to have Nakao models can attest to how great these instruments are. They were real "craftsman" pieces produced on such a limited basis. I couldn't ever compliment the folks at the factory that worked on them enough.

Bottom line is (though I don't need another N768), you couldn't go wrong with the instrument or with Glenn. He's great to do business with.
