I got one of these couple of months ago and love it. Anyone else got one knocking around that they dont use?

I'd love to get another one. It looks like have one of VERY few in the UK as it wasnt officially inported here other than special order.

They were available from Ovation's UK distributor for several years, so while they are not common they can be found over here reasonably easily and there's been several on Ebay UK lately. I have a few, but they're not for sale.

Actually that maybe where this one came from!

PT, when I spoke to a Tech at JHS yesterday he told me he could only ever remember seeing one!

JHS speak with fork tongue? ;)

He may have only had one through the service department, JHS had them in their line for quite a few years.

PT, is there no way I can persuade you to part with one of your Vipers?

I'll bet you've got a black one!

I recently got hold of a second black steel string Viper, I also have a black nylon string and a sunburst bass. Find me a Viper 12 string and I might trade you for one of the 6's. You think regular Vipers are rare? Try finding a 12-string outside of the USA.

there is a natural one on eBay right now.

edit: seller says "no international shipping" though.

there's also a black celebrity version for sale. i have not played one so cannot give you a comparison other than the obvious material construction.

Lanaki....

that one's got 2 strings too many and the neck is about 8" too short...

Thanks for looking out for me tho'....

had a CC074 Celebrity. Weak E string, not the best neck and whilst I could live with a B-778 the Celebrity is not 'enough' of a bass to live in the same street as the B-778 or EAB68.

They're not all that available here in the Colonies, either. I finally gave up looking and just had one made. Worth every penny, too.

Oh, a Viper BASS. Sorry I misread your first post. Yes, they are like rocking-horse poo in the UK, but I've seen a few. Good luck.

I have lots of rocking horse poo for sale. Maybe I should put it on ebay in the UK. Just a little bit at a time, so I can still say it's "rare". Paul, can you be my authorized distributer. Shouldn't be a big jump for me to go from selling BS to selling RHP.
Welcome Burpster. Glad we figured out you were talking about basses.

I have an EAB68 in CCB, but it's not going anywhere soon. Sorry about that. It's a great bass. There are a few others here on the board with them, and some have been offered up for sale from time to time. Patience ... and let this thread run for a few days for people to logon. You might get lucky and have someone looking to move theirs.

Welcome to the board and stick around. Ya got great taste!

Bobbo.. Mine is a CCB too! wouldnt have been my choice (of color) if I could have ordered one but you know what its growing on me..... ;)

I knew 1st time I saw it I wanted it- (another bassist owned it and I told him I wanted it!) Believe I had pretty high expectations and it has sooo exceeded them.

gave it damn good clean, levelled a coulpe of high frets strung it with GHS nylon wounds and set it up .
It has a killer Blues R'n'B tone through my Mesa amp.... My guitarist is blown away by it!
