If I WERE in the market to buy a Martin, that would have been the one.

Congrats also!

Beggin, you asked and you will be given.

Jack: I have not seen the D-18 yet until my wife flies back early next week. I am counting days.

Beggin, I've been contacted a couple of times by a person considering selling his CEO, but he can't make up his mind. If you really want one I'll let you know if he contacts me again. I was trying to find one for Simon since I pulled a Jack on him.

Simon, let us know when you get it and what you think. I love the sound of a mahogany dread.

Simon, I wasn't sure if you were saying that you were counting the days until your wife gets back or until your D-18 gets there. Since you got me in trouble with my wife, I thought I should ask you to clarify your reference to yours.

Simon is no fool. He won't say anything until the D-18 is in hand.

I'm beginning to think so. I swore I would never sell that guitar, as you well know Jack, but Beggin called me while I was driving home last night, and talked me out of it before I got home. Actually, I didn't sell it, I gave it away for the price I told him. I must be getting old....

Thank you TJ!!!!

Now.....what to sell to pay for the CEO?

Maybe the u681t (UTE) or possibly the 1685-5 12 stringer....hmmmmm

Mark: Payback time for the trouble I caused you? But Jack is right. My wife is unique, so it makes the D-18 second. (Or am I saying this to cover my bases just in case she reads this posting?)

TJ: Sorry to hijack this thread. And please do save a guitar for me when I travel to USA next summer.

Simon, we have it pretty good, don't we? Hope that you can stop my way next year, but I am totally aware that Boise isn't really on the way for most people.

I've been looking at a map, and darned if I can figure out what, if anything, Boise is on the way to...

...other than Twin Falls, of course...

Good luck with this sale. These are fabulous guitars. They ring and ring, and are very delicately responsive.
+ 1 for the guitar ....
Congrats to both Jim and Bluesailor for his new beauty...
and congrats to Roger for his playing ability.
The Mp3 is a cover or is an original from you ?
Whatever it is....Bravo :)

Mark, Boise is far out! With my expensive hobbies, I may not afford to send my son to private college in the U.S. next year. Will try to find out if I can send him to Idaho State at Boise. Then I will have no choice but to see you, your guitars and your car. That would be lovely! Not sure what my son will think, though. He is the one playing Kotadawg's FD-14 for the moment.

Marenostrum, we joined OFC around the same time but you have contributed a lot more. I was at the westerly end of Mare Nostrum (Barcelona, Spain) a few weeks ago looking for a guitar without any luck.

Simon, Spain is a long way to fly to look for a guitar. It would would have been much cheaper to send me. Keep that in mind next time you want to check one out.

Simon, we've housed Korean foreign exchange students before and we could do it again, but Idaho State is in Pocatello, not Boise. Boise State is the home of the famous blue turf. I'm surprised you didn't know about the best college football game ever, when Boise beat Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl a couple years ago.
Wabbit is right. Boise isn't really on the way to anywhere except Boise.
By the way, I got up early this morning and picked up the Patriot. When I last played it a couple weeks ago, it had a fret buzz on the high E. This morning it played really smooth. An hour passed quickly and I decided I better get ready to go to work.

Grazie. It's an original called "Nova Scotia" by my friend Gary Power, who hails from... Nova Scotia! He is the guy singing and playing a Taylor on the other channel.

Here's another track from the same session with my 000-15S.

Congrats to the folks who made the deal on the 000-17S.

After talking TJ out of his Martin CEO-5 on Wednesday afternoon, it arrived today (talk about service!) and it's a beautiful model and has a great sound. This is my first non-O purchase in over 30 years.

I have a u681t (UTE). It is the same setup, 12 fret to the body / slothead / 1 3/4" neck at the nut, as the Martin CEO-5. I will do a side by side comparison of the two tomorrow. Do I need two similar guitars?

Here's a pic I stole from Trader Jim's Photo's (kinda like I stole the Martin ;) :D ).

Many thanks again Jimbo!!!!
