Well, after around 4 months of waiting for delivery, I finally got my Al di Meola model Custom Legend a few days ago! After lowering the action and putting 9-47's on it, its amazing! Such a great deep n rich sound!!! Best acoustic I ever played! And thro an amp it is fantastic!

Had to do some jiggery-pokery with the shims with these strings, but got it all to work finally. Its black n beautiful! And the new Singapore price was a steal!

A totally reccommendable guitar if u haven't tried one! Am looking at a Crate CA120DG acoustic twin channel amp today, anyone know them?

anyway, just had to rant cos its a great guitar!
cheers

It IS a delight to play n listen to though! I have a '78 Custom Baladeer and I thought THAT was great, but the Al di is a whole other ballpark of great!!!

We've got our own version of FaceAche here in the OFC. OvationBook(or OvationSpace, or OvationTube)

Don't bother trying to work out the Gallery as it's been condemned. The management will be closing it down in the near future.

And did you say 0.9 - 47? Are you kidding me? Why?

Oh OK. as soon as I get settled here in my Montreal hotel I shall dig out a couple of photos of the Al di, plus perhaps my old ragged '78 Custom Baladeer. So thanks for that I shall try up load those tommorow.
And 9-47--?-WHY? Cos I didnt think I could create a decent sounding 9-42 set for the acoustic!
9-42 is what I always use on my hollow body electric and all my acoustics, except the nylons! I like to play fast n 'liney' and I cant do that with fat hefty unstretchable acoustic sets...since when is a 12 set "light"!? ha ha

The Meeting of the Spirits concert (1979) John McLaughlin plays the very model I have (78 Custom Baladeer) and he has at least 9's on there, with unwound 3rd! Sounds fine to me! Just shows u what Ovation can do with sound!

Not sure if this link goes straight to my new gallery but I have just uploaded a couple of photos of my new Al di model, plus my other guitars (at the moment - may get the 2008 CE tommorow); They are not the best photos - typical, get cool new guitars then you have to go buy a new decent camera to photograph them! (You may have guessed that I haven't done this latter part yet!):

Well, the photography aint good, but if u liked that, here is me new one - picked it up last night: Steve's Music, Montreal, Canada! Thanks to Mike & Alex for their 'assistance'--"Yeah, buy it Dude!"

My new Adamas 2008 Collector's Edition!

Gallery LINK: http://ovationfanclub.ning.com/index.php/photo/photo/slideshow?feed_url=http%3A%2F%2Fovationfanclub.ning.com%2Fphoto%2Fphoto%2FslideshowFeedForContributor%3FscreenName%3D31x29uffwg fbg

OR Same:
http://ovationfanclub.ning.com/profile/IvonSmith I guess this may work??

But, OMG!!!! What a freakin guitar! These are SO much nicer up close than any pics I have seen, and the sound?!! WOW. The Al di is fantastic, and this one is even better, such a big projective fat sound! Bottom end is enormous but its even across all the freq's! But its so loud I had to really play soft in my hotel room!

Can't wait to stick this thro my new Crate CA120DG waiting to be picked up back home in Singapore...

But wow. If u get the chance, as Woody said, "If you aint got one, GET ON!"

Amazing!
