Wow! That really went fast. i would have snagged it if it didn't have the big finish crack.

Nice find. Too bad about the big ugly crack, though.

Durn! I coulda sold my 1718 with the big finish crack, and got that one!

You can't see that crack as well, on my black Elite you can see it from across the room!

I figured I've been too anal about the way a guitar looks, and not about how it sounds. This one may break me of that. I don't think I'm going to get it repaired, just play it. I really love the burst.

Jim, I felt the same way until I bought my 1758 burst with a crack through the wood in the same place. After repair it's only visible close up, but the sound more than compensates for any visual issues. Congrats on a great buy!

I've had about 5 of these and the burst I owned sounded the best. Hope this one has the same magic for you.

I'm cycling. I used to go toward the natural, and now I really like the burst. What's next, a black guitar.

Sweeet Jim....

What does the MS charge to fix up a finish crack anyway. I have been thinking of doing that to my 1537, or not...but curious anyway.

good grab.
Now if the crack is in the wood you'll want to get it fixed. Debanjo just had his proto fixed for the same thing.
You'll sell it soon anyway, you won't like the neck.

I was kind of worried about the neck, but I figured for that price on a 1537, I might put up with a non-manly neck. From the looks of it, I think the crack is in the wood, so I'll have to see just how bad it is and maybe send it in to John & co. to have it stabilized, or I might just try it myself. With the back hole, it shouldn't be too hard to cut a cleat and install.
