Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | This one has obviously gotten a LOT of use. It shows a fair amount of cosmetic issues, but still has it where it counts. Still, being from 1979, it could look worse for sure: A couple of small finish cracks and quite a few dings, but the neck is straight, the intonation is good, the electronics work, and the sound is lovely! I've given it a good cleaning with Dunlop 65 and cleaned and oiled the fret board. Which reminds me, the fretboard has some grooving on the second and third frets. The previous owner must have seriously played this one....and played and played! The action's OK, but it still has a shim under the saddle if you want it a little lower. I've just put new strings on it and replaced the volume and tone knob with a new factory set.
Here are the basics from Ovation: Artist bowl, AA solid spruce top, VT-8 bracing, scale is 25 1/4", ebony fret-board, walnut bridge, 1 7/8" nut, classic deluxe chrome tuners with pearloid buttons.
I think I got good pictures of this thing's ding collection, but none of them affect the sound or playability. But feel free to ask questions. This would make a great guitar for taking pretty much anywhere you want.
It did not come with a case, so I'm only asking $400 shipped. If you want it shipped in a case, I can supply a mid-depth case for $100. As always, let me know what you think.
Thanks for looking.

Well...uh...my Pacemaker is still for sale too. :)
Doesn't at least one of you want to keep these off the auction block? ;) |

Anyway, besides including a picture of a different guitar in the description, I also put up the wrong model number. (Thanks to those of you for kindly prodding me with the facts.)
This one is actually a 1624 and INCLUDES a pre-amp. It is NOT an 1124 (acoustic only).
I would also like to move this one quickly. I've been informed that space is becoming limited in a way that might eventually prove hazardous to my health. So I am open to offers.
Anyone? |
