You can see a photo of it here: . I hate to sell it, but I needs the money. If you're interested, contact me at mrmanley@charter.net or bad.king.john@gmail.com. I'm offering it at a fair and realistic price-point.

Went to Properties, cut and pasted the address in my browser to see the pic and now it appears in the post like nothing was ever wrong. ??? FM I guess. Greetings from an ex MN guy, mrmanley! Hey, it's okay to put the S back in Rocheter now. I'll vouch that you're not from New York. :D Otto .

The 2 that I've had the chance to play are very, very nice, but I think the 08C actually has better tone (rings like a grand piano). Plus, if you need to plug in, the 47 RI is acoustic only. That's not to detract from this guitar, they look and sound beautiful!

The '08C if you need to plug in and the 47RI is you want to play straight acoustic. I'm not sure anyone would need both but everybody should have at least one of them.

Keller called me a while back and seemed surprised when he asked what kind of preamp I want and I said, none....

To me sound-wise they are not in the same league, sorry. Maybe close from the players position but sit 5 feet away from someone and have them switch back and forth playing at you. 47RI has a ring and sustain that the 08C does not. Actually the 08C sounds about equal to the OFC guitar. But definitely not the 47RI. PAUL MOODY - you heard them face on, what do you think? But on the other hand the 08C has the neck to kill for. What a wonderful size, shape and choice of materials. Very similar to the wide neck version of the OFC guitar but just ever so slightly not as flat C. Totally in love with the 08C neck compared to the skinny 47RI. 'course we're taking about the cream of the cream here, so it's really splitting hairs between the Original slothead, 47RI, 08C and OFC guitar. Toby

I totally loved the neck and thought it felt and played great. Hmmmmmm....am I joking about not being sure if anyone would need both....let me check my bank balance and get back to you on that! Paul....how many do I have? Compared to some of the collections in this group, hardly any.

Other than the original slotheads (which deserve a status of their own), the 47RI, the OFC, the '08C, the reissue 1687, and the Ute are all great guitars. I was told a few years back to go with the "textured". Good advice.

I've never played an 08 collectors. I'll have my chance in a few weeks at g8r's. I'm very interested to compare. Good luck with the sale.

Toby Maybe it's the lack of electronics and as a result, a bone saddle instead of the OPP. I don't know. I just know that it's a great guitar.

Please come up with a price, so I can convince myself that I don't need a red guitar that badly. Actually, life was simpler when SWMBO thought that the only difference was the colors. She's learned enough that she probably won't accept, "I need a red guitar" as an excuse. I don't know if she's learned enough to figure out that this is like the OFC guitar except for the electronics. That level of knowledge could be dangerous.

If you can swing it, it would be well worth grabbing. One of the few that will surely hold value and possibly even increase.
