Here's one that I may kick myself over, but I need to bucks to get my wife a present she really wants.

This guitar is a 1968/69 Glen Campbell Deluxe Balladeer. It's 40 years old (built somewhere around the end of 1968, early 1969. It's been estimated that less than 50 were built all total before the GC Artist series came out. I know of only 4. The original is up in Nova Scotia, and the second is still with ol' Glen. The third is in Arizona, and the last is here with me -- or soon to be with you.

Deep shiny bowl, with a sound to match. There was a crack in the top which was repaired by the factory before I got it. Since I got it (4 years ago), I carved a bone saddle, and put on a strap button. It plays like a dream, and has the big Ovation sound that only the old shiny bowls can deliver.

On a scale of 1-10, it's a 9, easily.

As I said above, I want to buy a present for my wife, and bucks are tight right now on luxury spending.

It comes with the original chipboard case (I think that's what it's called). I'll have it professionally packed and shipped.

I'd like to keep this in the OFC family if possible. $1000 plus packing and shipping. Let me know.

Moody, you are out of your freaking mind ....

There were VERY few of these made, and THIS is the guitar that put Ovation on the map. PERIOD.

I'm with Dave.

Keep this one and sell something else you could replace at a later date.

Let me think about this.

If anybody's interested, let me know, but I'm on the fence......

Come on Moody. You've been telling me for years that she won't "allow" you to sell off any guitars. She's too attached to them.

Oh, but now when SHE wants something, well it's a whole nother story. For Christ sake just buy her something stupid like a handbag and say "Here Honey, I Love You. Now go make dinner while I play my Glen Campbell Deluxe Balladeer".

You're a damn drama queen. CLICK

Paulllllllll...nooooooo!!!!!!!!!

Like you said, out of 6000+ OFC members, you know of four of these. I can't imagine the total number being anywhere near to 50.

I like Tuppy's handbag idea.

I think I'm backing away from the idea for a while. I made a mistake and picked it up to play it. Damn but it's good....

....He must not play it a lot....look at all the cobwebs around it! ;)

Paul, you'd better reconsider....it's worth way more than a $1000 bucks.

...Or, I'll trade you a banjo fer it!!!
